Hero Of the Week
Marjorie Serack is the Hero of the week this time!
Marjorie is a pretty dedicated quilter, spending a lot of time at her machine whenever she can.
What makes Marjorie a hero in my books, is her generosity of knowledge, quilting spirit of sharing and giving to those in need. Today she stopped by with quilts for the flood victims of grand Forks.
Thank you Marjorie for your enthusiasm, your smiles and spirit of giving! So very contagious and we love it!

Patty Bradley
Patty Bradley was in to long arm quilt this gorgeous Braid in a Day quilt she made using Cantik Batik strips.
Patty had taken the long arm course last year so was a bit hesitant when starting out. On the second row she was just zooming along!
On this quilt she used Glide thread and a panto called "Carpet of Leaves" for a spectacular finish on the front and the back of the quilt!
Thank you so much, Patty, for spending the day with us. You are so much fun!

Patty Bradley
Yes, this is the same Patty Bradley you see in the item above. She did 2 quilts in one day!
This was the first one and wanted to start off simple so used the "Bumpity" panto and a gorgeous shade of purple Glide thread.
The first pass, she was a bit slower and after that she was on fire! Just nailed it!
Thank you again Patty for inspiring us and showing us how easy it can be to finish your quilt and make it your own!

Shades in Between
Isn't this a cute quilt made with the blacks, greys, whites and a splash of pink? I love this blend of colours!
You will need 35 fat quarters for the quilt with .6 meter of border fabric and .5 for the binding.

Diana Hewins
Diana Hewins, long arm quilter extraordinaire and lover of Kaffe Fassett fabrics, was in to long arm this beauty of a quilt this week.
I have to say, I think this one is my favorite one so far.....and I have seen lots of her quilts. Hard to see in the picture but she has fish on them that are just so darn cute that have darling kissy faces!
We have 2 of Diana's quilts on show in the shop for everyone to see and be inspired. You can bet that I will be doing some serious begging for this one to go up as well! Come on in to see Diana's quilts and be inspired!

Antique Quilt
Take a peek at this amazing 1930 - 1940 antique hand embroidered quilt found in one of our local thrift shops.
The quilt came our way via Marg Spina to Diana Hewins and then to our shop in the hopes of someone knowing who these people are.
There is no label or identifying marks on the quilt other than the names of the people who did the stitching.
Come on in and take a look at the quilt and if you know anyone or have any knowledge of the quilt and how it came about we would love to hear. The work is amazing.....just incredible hand embroidery!

More on the Antique Quilt
Here is photo close up of four of the blocks from the antique quilt we have on display.
Each block is signed by a different person and they are all embroidered with a different motif.
There is no batting in the quilt. Just the top and the back. Some of the yellow backgrounds are lighter or darker than others, due to age or dye lot?

Anytime we have fabric with large trucks and construction theme it is a very hot item! I am guessing this one is not going to hang around long so come on in for a peek or check it out online!

Happy happy birthday to La Rae Johnson who also goes by the name Martha in here!

Bev Fowler
Bev Fowler was in to show us her quilt made from a lovely line of fabrics we had in last year.
I am not usually into the row quilts, but this one is gorgeous! It was perfectly suited to doing a row project.
Flowers, birds and happy things make up this quilt. Since she is keeping this one, I think we might be able to talk her into sharing at Quilt Show next year! I will work on her and let you know.....
