Hero of the Week!

Heather 1

Our Hero of the week is Nancy Zieman  of Nancy's Notions.
I learned to sew watching Nancy's Notions every Saturday morning back in the late 80's and early 90's. Nancy had the ability to make you believe in yourself. Dream it and believe in yourself.....you have it all inside.

This has sent me to tears. I will truly miss this amazing woman with so much to offer to others and who gave so generously of herself.

Nancy Zieman, you will be missed by all of us.
Rest in Peace.

Sample was made by the talented Donna Rickman. Thank you Donna!

We are starting this one as a sew in event in January of 2018. Give us a call at 250-376-7630 to let us know if you are interested. It will be on the 3rd Saturday of January and we can decide then how often we want to meet. Cost is $5 per Saturday.

Work from your stash as much as possible. Of course I would love to sell you some fabric, but realistically you probably have lots of bits in your stash for this one.

Bring your trims, buttons etc to share among all of the participants and you will beat your stash of bibs and bobs down too!

Put a loonie in every time you take a piece of ric rac, button or ? and at the end we will use the money for a party! Sounds like fun!

Have you heard of our "Women to Women" program?

heather-20

A few years ago I noticed so many people were struggling with what to get for all the loved ones on the Christmas list that have so much already.

I got to thinking....there are many women who are not so fortunate. Why not embrace the spirit of Christmas and give back?

We are so blessed and so fortunate  to be in a position to help.

And then you know what happened? It felt really really good. More and more people chose to donate a stocking, items to fill the stockings, or cash to help.
Last year we gave over 200 stockings and several hundred dollars in cash to Emerald House.

Please consider helping. We will have hampers in the shop and a free stocking class to be  announced.
