Shirley Chizma

shirley-chizma

Shirley Chizma was in to take the class with Bill to learn to use the long arm machine and quilt her quilt. She learned so much I think her brain was ready to explode!

When I stepped out of the office and saw her quilt I was so surprised as we have that fabric on order! I just loved what she did with her panel. Really stepped it up and has a great project!

Shirley chose the computer program with musical notes which was just perfect and with Glide thread her end result was spot on!

Well done Shirley! Thank you so much for sharing your creativity with us all!

Betty Ann Taylor

betty-ann-taylor

Betty Ann Taylor was in to quilt her gorgeous lap quilt all in lovely spring colours.

This just turned out so well with the snowball blocks being rectangular instead of square!
I have never tried using the rectangle but this is really cool!

Betty Ann opted for the computer for perfect results and the Glide thread just made the project come together so easy! The edge to edge design is called Alfresco. I liked it so much I intend on using it on one of my own! So want to be Betty Ann...LOL

Thank you to Betty Ann for sharing with us all!

Sue Pare

sue-pare-nuetrals

Our very own Sue Pare was in to long arm quilt her  lovely neutral toned quilt. Sue tends to the softer colours and she really nailed it on this one!

The design she chose was on the computer and is called Raindrops. Her thread was a Glide thread medium toned grey so very subtle.

Don't you just love seeing all the different quilts that people make? I find it so amazing the difference in the quilt with colour and design. Definitely one of my favourite parts of the job.

Thank you to Sue for sharing with everyone! What a fun day we had with you here!

Kathy Elliott

kathy-elliott

Kathy Elliott was in to long arm quilt her gorgeous Snail Trail pattern quilt. She worked mostly from her stash and for heavens sake Kathy! You must be reaching the end of the stash soon????

Isn't this just an amazing quilt for one that has come from her stash? I couldn't believe how well the colours coordinated! It would take me a month of Sundays to get all those colours together.I just loved the outcome on this one!

Kathy chose to use the computer program with a pattern called Rip Curl which was just perfect! Very ocean and watery looking! With help from Bill and trusty Glide thread Kathy had a fabulous quilt at the end!

Donna Clements

donna-clements

Donna Clements was in to pick up her quilt she had us quilt for her. Donna used fabrics by Tilda which are vintage florals in soft pastels.

Heer beautiful vintage quilt was long armed by Lori Dewart using the computer program with Butterflyte edge to edge design. It turned out just gorgeous!

Thank you to Donna for sharing with us all and letting us be a part of your quilt story!

Remember that you can bring your quilts in for us to quilt. The cost is $.03 cents per square inch. Take the length and x by the width x .03  and you will have the cost of the quilting done by us. We are at a 1 - 2 week turnaround currently.

June Stewart

june-stewart

June Stewart was in to pick up her seasonal quilt she had us do for her. June's quilt incorporated applique, paper piecing and some amazing piecing!

June's quilting is just amazing and she presented us with a bit of a challenge. How to find a design which will work for appliques and piecing, snowmen and watermelon! In the end the design used was called Flirtacious with excellent coverage on all seams but not adding another element to the quilt. On a quilt like this you want the piecing to be the star of the show!

Thank you to June for sharing your creativity and talents with us all!

Heather Wiebe

heather-weibe

Heather Wiebe brought her quilt in for us to long arm quilt for her. This one is all soft roses and spring hues.

Heather is a bit of a newer quilter and worked so hard on this one. As there are no physical classes going on she used the computer and past classes she had taken. What a wonderful quilt and it so just makes me think of Heather Wiebe with all the roses and soft pastels.

Congratulations Heather on a beautiful quilt! Thank you so much for sharing with everyone your creativity!

Karen Cavanaugh

karen-cavanaugh-2

Karen Cavanaugh came in to quilt his amazing 3D quilt her friend had pieced. The fabrics appeared to be all RJR Jinny Beyer fabrics, which are some of my favourites! So rich and just begging to be petted!

Bill helped Karen to use the computer program. The design chosen was a a basic stipple as we wanted to lock down all the seams but not add another element to the top. The dimensional look to the quilt was kept and everyone was happy!

Thank you to Karen for sharing and letting us be a part of the quilt story!

The project offered is gorgeous! Called "Mermaids Tale" you can make this one as a 68" x 68" or extend it to a 99" x 99" queen quilt. You also have the option of doing the Poinsettia project which you will probably be able to finish the top on the cruise! That would be cool! Next you also can choose to do a UFO! You will need it to be a Quiltworx or Be Colourful project, and Anne will help you get through the project!

This all sure makes it sound pretty darn exciting! You can find all the details at Anne Hall's website :http://www.sewpeaceful.com

Cityscapes

cityscapes-by-leslie

Take a look at what our very own Leslie Ford designed for us! Leslie worked super hard on all the elements to make them work together and I think she did a superb job of it!

You will see it when you first come in the door to the shop as we have it hanging right smack bang in the middle of the store! Nothing subtle there! LOL

This is a wall size quilt but we do have fabrics you could add to make it bed size if you like. Kits are priced at $89.99 52" x 53" available in shop and online at http://www.fabricshelf.ca

Tropicalia

tropicalia

Just in on Friday and has been petted and in a spot right at the front of the shop! Tropicalia by Quilted Treasures digital print you would swear is a batik but no....it is a regular cotton!

I would have a summer dress out of this fabric. If I was so inclined to make a dress. I think a bag would be more likely to happen.

Check them out in the shop and on line at http://www.fabricshelf.ca
