APQS will randomly select a grand prize winner on April 22, 2022. You can enter once a day for their chance to win. There is no purchase necessary to enter or participate. Registration is open worldwide. Must be 18 years of age to win.

The following are the contest details

• Enter once every day for your chance to win an APQS Millie longarm quilting machine, valued at $19,700, and to win one of our monthly APQS Quilting Gift Baskets.
• The grand prize winner will be selected at random on Friday, April 22, 2022, after 5 p.m. CDT. The actual winner’s name may not be immediately announced but the announcement that we have a winner will be made as soon as we make contact with the winner. APQS will announce the winner’s name after the winner has signed the winner affidavit form.
• A total of three monthly APQS Quilting Gift Basket winners will be selected at random by the APQS team by 11 a.m. CDT on the first non-holiday weekday of the month (for January, February and March entries).

Ways to enter

There are two ways to enter the longarm giveaway:

Enter online. You must fill out the registration form for your first entry. For subsequent daily entries, you can enter with only your email address. Lise McDevitt

Lise McDevitt was in to longarm quilt her beautiful denim blues quilt. Her quilt recipient request blues and this one was a perfect pattern!

Edge to edge digital design is Baroque Hearts with Glide thread Hawaiian Blue. Lise spent the day with us to longarm her quilt and is becoming quite adept on the computer!

Donna Fleury

The always fun and talented Donna Fleury was in to  long arm quilt her beautiful lap quilt. Her choice of colours of navy, golds and creams is just gorgeous! The pattern is called Alice's Stars.

Edge to edge digital design is called Wave on Wave with Glide Blueberry used for the top thread. We use the Glide thread almost exclusively for superior results with little to no problems with breakage and skipping stitches.

Thank you to Donna for sharing your talents and we so love having you come in. So much fun!

Sharon Gloyn

Sharon Gloyn's sister, Sandra Durnin started this fascinating quilt over 25 years ago. She used batiks in all of the blocks. The black may not be a batik....not sure on that one.

The little houses, the flying geese and the interesting fabrics all combine to make one very one of a kind quilt. Sandra had the quilt made but not finished for years, until Sharon stepped in and got things moving.

A beautiful quilt with an edge to edge digital design called Modernish-Unravelled. Glide thread called Kiwi was used for the top thread. Quilted by Leslie Ford.

Thank you to Sharon and Sandra  for letting us be a part of this wonderful quilt story!

Grace Finnigan

Grace Finnigan brought her beautiful springtime quilt in for us to longarm for her. All in soft yellows, pinks and greens this one is going to look so bright and cheerful on her bed.

Edge to edge digital design is Plump with Glide thread Pink on the top. Grace was wanting the quilting design to really show up. She used a wool batting which made the quilt very light and airy, but still warm. Leslie Ford did the longarming on this one and it is lovely!

Congratulations to Grace on your beautiful quilt to loved for many years to come!

Mystery Quilt Retreat

Finally....a class! It is a Mini Mystery Quilt class!

  It’s “mini” because it’s a no frills, non-residential and during the day, to keep the costs significantly down.  But the quilt is in no way mini! 
We have managed to secure the lovely big hall right across from Heather's Fabric Shelf, and close to the bakery and Tim Hortons for your catering needs.

Only 2 spots left, this class is taught by Quiltworx CI Anne Hall. Pattern, instruction, and all beautiful fabrics INCLUDED for a 68" x 68" quilt, and almost all of your prep will be DONE! Aimed at confident beginners and above. Two colour choices will be sent to you in advance. There is also the option to purchase Queen extension papers and coordinating fabrics.

Sewing Machine Service

Bill is recovering well and is up and about. Things will return to normal this week and onward as far as machines to be repaired go.

We have a customer who would like to sell her quilt frame. The Snap PVC Floor Frame is for quilting, embroidery and cross stitch.

Measures approx. 38" x 32" tall. It comes with a Q Tilt to raise the back of the frame to make it easier for you to see and to bend your fingers.

Organizer free pattern

With the start of spring the whole nesting syndrome is rearing it's head. Cleaning out the sewing room is at the top of my list. There is nothing more frustrating than losing the marking pen right when you need to do some HSTs!

If you are interested in making a handy organizer to hang on the door or wall, I found this one and thought it would be handy. By Blank Quilting it is a free download and easy to adapt from the bathroom, the kids room to most important of all.....the sewing room!
