Lise McDevitt

lise-mcdevitt

Lise McDevitt was in to long arm quilt her beautiful quilts this week. She chose to work with the computer program for those perfect results and the end result was just stunning!

Lori Dewart was on hand to help her to choose her patterns, threads and to operate the computer.

I love them both equally but the red houses quilt really touches my heart. No idea why.....I have never lived in a red house, never even been to one and don't remember seeing one ever, but I am sure I would love one if I saw it.

Thank you to Lise for sharing your talents with us all!

Anne Lewis

anne-lewis

Anne Lewis was in to pick up her quilt she had us quilt. We have a lot of quilts come through our door and see lots in blue/white, black/white or red/white combination but not many in green and white.

This quilt really caught the attention of all of us in here because of the unusual colour combination and the pattern was just perfect! Lori Dewart did the quilting in a computerized edge to edge design called Asian Lily and it was just gorgeous!

Remember that you can bring your quilts in for us to quilt. The cost is $.03 cents per square inch. Take the length and x by the width x .03  and you will have the cost of the quilting done by us. We are at a 1 - 2 week turnaround currently.

Thank you so much Anne for sharing with us all!

Joy Parkes

joy-parkes-2

Joy Parkes was in to long arm quilt her gorgeous floral queen size quilt. I just love the colours in her quilt and she did a great job of pattern and fabric choices.

Joy chose to use the computer to quilt her quilt. The design she chose if called Busy Bees and it was perfect for a garden themed quilt. With Glide thread for ease of use she had a perfect finish to this pretty quilt.

Thank you to Joy for sharing with us all and giving us new ideas as to what to do with our florals and border prints.

Alaska 2022

Alaska may 2022 projects

Yes we are going to Alaska in 2022 on a quilting cruise. How exciting is that? Anne Hall and I are hosting this fabulous trip and garauntee some good times, quilting, good food and spectacular scenery!

This is of course all dependant on the Covid situation, as we take your safety is of first concern for us. All precautions will be taken to have fun, enjoyable but safe vacation. We have a limit of 20 students in order to keep distances.Only 2 spots left so give a call soon!!!

The project offered is gorgeous! Called "Mermaids Tale" you can make this one as a 68" x 68" or extend it to a 99" x 99" queen quilt. You also have the option of doing the Poinsettia project which you will probably be able to finish the top on the cruise! That would be cool! Next you also can choose to do a UFO! You will need it to be a Quiltworx or Be Colourful project, and Anne will help you get through the project!

This all sure makes it sound pretty darn exciting! You can find all the details at Anne Hall's website : http://www.sewpeaceful.com

Getting our quilting act together!

aa1

If you are anything like me you struggle to keep organized to get your quilting projects started and finished. I tend to have far larger dreams than what is actually reasonable. And of course another box of fabric arrives and I want to sew with that fabric! lol

Brother Mike has found a great article on streamlining your quilting. The tips are great and I think if I can focus long enough to actually do as it says I could be all organized and sort of like Martha Stewart. Have a read and see if any of their ideas could help you too in being more streamlined with your quilting!
