Janey Hazelwood

One of the absolute cutest tree skirts we have seen is Janey Hazelwood's Gnomes tree skirt.
This is her first time doing applique and definitely the first time doing a round quilt and then having to cut it to make the opening. I totally agree that is not easy. All the work to put it together as perfect as you can and now cut it open and a circle for the tree trunk. I have been known to refuse to cut it and just put the tree stand on top of the skirt.  LOL
Leslie Ford is the quilter on this one using a digital design called Christmas Gnome and Glide thread Flint for the top.

This quilt is a very special quilt as it is the first quilt made by Gayle Skelton!  Her clear bright colours, the design and that pop of Black! What a gorgeous quilt from Gayle and I am sure we are going to see more coming from her!

Donna Youd

Donna Youd created this fabulous quilt working from her stash.
Now, as you will all know, it is perfectly normal to find that you are one fabric short. Of course there is no more at the shop of the line you are using.
We had the perfect fabric to work for one of the borders, but it had octopuses on it. Well, Donna felt that it would just work right in. Guess what? It did!  Name of the quilt?
Along Came an Octopus!

Leslie Ford is the long arm quilter on this one using digital design Creeping Fig (because why wouldn't you have creeping figs for your Octopuses that came along?) and Glide thread Cool Grey 3 for the top.

Catherine/Joan Lukow

Catherine/Joan Lukow (one name-goes by either name) created this lovely 3 Yard quilt with Aurora Borealis fabrics in the rich jewel tones. What an amazing quilt for using only 3 1 meter pieces!

Bill did the long arm quilting on this one using digital design Windswept and Glide thread Baby Blue for top.

Diane Mousseau

Diane Mousseau brought her incredible vintage style patchwork quilt in for us to long arm for her. Her bright sunny vintage quilt really shows off Diane's skill with colour values and placement. I love this type of quilt, as it holds my attention and I love to look for all those details!

Gilded Feathers

New fabrics in the shop this week and they are so lovely! The line by Benartex called Gilded Feathers is just incredible. We have these bolts near the front so we can see them and pet them often throughout the day!

There are 5 different colour ways but the black I think is just stellar! We also have in creams, teals, navy and royal blue.

Monster'ocity

More of the new fabrics.....this one by Henry Glass is called Monster'ocity  and is a Glow in the Dark fabric.
It did not show well on the video yesterday but take our word for it ..... it does glow in the dark! We will even show it to you in the bathroom if you want.

This is a line of 4 fabrics so you are going to be doing one of the 3 yard quilts or looking for some blenders to work into it. Lots of colours in the fabric so maybe even your stash?

Scissor Sharpening

Scissor Sharpening by Rick Walker of Wicked Edge

Rick will be coming in the second Wednesday of each month to sharpen your scissors and knives.

Have your items in to the shop by end of business on April 9th for them to be sharpened on the 10th.

Rick comes with 40 years of experience and does a great job! He will even sharpen pinking shears, grooming shears and more.
You can phone me at 250-376-7630 or  email me as well to let me know how many scissors/knives are coming.

Sewing Machine Repair

Machine servicing by Hector and Tammy Symes for a great job and fast turn around.
Bill is over to Salmon Arm each week to see his stepmom and will bring your machines over for Hector to service on the Wednesday.

Have your machines here by the end of business on Tuesday and you have your machine back on Thursday!
