Reaching out for help

Rosemarie Griffin has reached out to me asking for help. She is active in the Sew for the Curve program making masks and scrub bags for the health care workers in Kamloops.

They are desperately looking for 1/4" elastic as there is none for several days yet. Also they are looking for double fold bias tape in 1/2" wide. Colours are not important, just the product would save a huge amount of time in cutting and pressing.

The biggest need is for sewers and cutters. Even if you can only do a couple of dozen masks or bags it would be so much appreciated. If you don't want to do the sewing please reach out to her to offer your services as a cutter. These are simple rectangle shapes, nothing fancy.

Any help you can provide will just warm the cockles of Rosemarie's heart so much. Thank you and know that my heart cockles will be warmed as well.

Hector and Tammy are coming!

Hector and Tammy will be here on Tuesday April 7th to service your sewing machines! I am pretty darn excited as they didn't make it last time due to not enough machines.

Maureen Connolly has made these adorable pillows for her granddaughters!
Are they just not the cutest ever? She has more to be made but wanted to show us all what she has been busy doing.

"I have 2 out 4 granddaughters completed!! Pattern from Sew kind of wonderful.  It is a quilt pattern,  but I thought each girl could have there own pillow."

The Shows Must Go On!!

Composer Andrew Lloyd Webber announced on Thursday that he will begin streaming his musicals for free while theaters remain closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The first show to be aired will be the 2000 performance of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” starring Donny Osmond.

The week after, the 2012 production of “Jesus Christ Superstar” will be available to stream on the channel.

“Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” will stream on YouTube starting April 3 at 12 p.m. MST and will be available for 48 hours.

Northcott Fabrics has come out with a new program for everyone at home looking for a new project!

Each day Northcott will come out with a new free block pattern! I will post it in our facebook page. Each block contains a picture of the block, and instructions for making the block with 2 options.

Choose any 2 blocks or make all of them using 2 contrasting fabrics. Fabrics can be Northcott fabrics or your own fabrics from your stash! I will have a block done for each week and you will have opportunity to see it as a block or into an entire quilt. Mine will be from fabrics in the shop.

At the end of each week post at least 2 of your blocks in ANY fabrics as a photo comment on the Northcott Facebook post at the end of the week. If you find it all confusing to post your blocks, just send them to me and I will get them posted for you.

Five block entries will be randomly chosen to win a bundle of 25 Fat Quarters of Northcott Fabrics!
