Hero of the Week

angie-cook-the-hero-001
Angie Cook is our Hero of the Week!
If you have ever met Angie, you will totally understand why that we have chosen her to be our hero. She is one of the strongest and kindest women I know.
Angie has overcome her struggles in life with smiles intact but more than that, she has the most gentle soul you could ever want to meet. Angie has amazing amounts of empathy for others.
We all have bad days, sad days, days that we are just grumpy. Angie is one of the rare ones, who never allows it to take over.
Cheers to you Angie for being who you are and showing the rest of us what kindness really is all about!

9th Annual North Shore Quilt Show

246

Quilt Show this year is April 28 and 29th. We have had to move it one weekend later due to a booking conflict with the Seniors Center. Thank you for your understanding and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

This quilt show is all about you! Think of it as a giant Show and Tell with lots of inspiration for everyone!

I have always envisioned our quilt shop as part of a network of like minded people. The annual quilt show is an opportunity to show what you have done, see what others have done, to inspire others and to be inspired. I hope all of you will have a chance to be a part of a great event held right here in the Brock Center.

We have a few things lined up for the show. Jennifer Smith from H.A. Kidd will be here to show us what she has in the way of notions and ideas. These are straight from the warehouse so it should be pretty darn exciting to see!

No entry fee, no judging .....just fun!

We will start to accept quilts the 15th of April.

Currently I am looking for volunteers for the following positions:

  • quilt patrols for both days
  • Entry desk both days
  • Baggers both days
  • Runners in the shop both days
  • Antique display helpers both days
  • 1 - 2 people to make sandwiches for the volunteers
  • 4-5 people to help with the hanging of the quilts

At this time I am also looking for men with drills and tools to assemble quilt racks on the Friday. I have need of 3 - 4 more men. If anyone has some men to spare give us a call or send us an email and we will get them onto the list.

Oldies but Goodies for the quilt show!

  antique machine

The Antique section of last year's quilt show proved to be very popular so we will be repeating it again.

If anyone has anything to show please let us know. It can be sewing machines, sewing patterns, notions or other items of interest to sewers and quilters.

The Antique section of the show will be set up in Donna's Yarn and Craft store right across from us. She has an alarm system as well as ample room for the antique items to be displayed. Donna will also be hosting a fiber Arts show at the same time in her shop so please give us a call if you have any knitting, crochet, cross stitch or other hand work to show! She is pretty excited about this!

Give us a call at 250-376-7630 or email us at: info@fabricshelf.ca
