Hero of the Week
Our Hero of the Week this time is Sal Harms. Sal has overcome so much in the time that I have known her. Her inner strength is amazing!
I first met Sal when I was starting out at Findlay's Vacuum and Sewing. She came and took classes with me, shopped at my one shelf and participated in our very first Annual Quilt Show. Because of people like Sal our shop has grown and thrived over the years and we are so appreciative of the support she has shown.
Thank you so much to Sal Harms for joining us on our quilting journey and supporting us every step of the way.

Elly Pitre
Elly Pitre was in to show us her amazing quilt she made using her embroidery machine.
Each rectangle is embroidered separately and then sewn together to make the quilt.
Lots of thread, lots of pre-planning and lots of patience won the day!

Five Star Runner
Very exciting news for everyone! One of my best friends and fellow quilting addicts from Haida Gwaii is coming down to teach a class here at the shop!
Linda Rowbotham will be here September 14 and 15th to teach a class using a very cool technique to make these gorgeous table runners. This is not paper pieced. It is a slice and insert method! You literally cannot make a mistake!! Have to love that!
You can make as many stars as you wish. In the sample there are 3 and we will have samples in the shop. Because she lives on the ocean Linda has gone with a beach theme in colours. You could choose any colour you like. Night sky? Bright fun colours? Batiks or regular cottons? The world is your oyster ladies!
Cost of the class is $45 and is a one day class so choose your day and come on in to the shop for this great class. Pattern is included. Please note - the tax is included in the price on the Website : http://www.fabricshelf.ca

This is one of the Halloween ones we carry and it is so adoreable! When I first saw this one at Quilt Market I insisted that this one be part of our trunk show with product!
Your buttons are included in the pattern or the kit. Choose either hand or machine work to stitch up these little cuties and then finish off with matching hangars!

Poinsettia
Poinsettia Class with Anne Hall is coming this fall! Finishes at 30" for the round or the square version. This gorgeous little project is taught over 2 days November 14 and 15th.

Fractured Star
Fractured Star by Quiltworx is being taught this November by our very own Anne Hall!
Using a strip pack and background fabrics you have a gorgeous 80" quilt that will look fabulous just about anywhere!
This project is rated confident beginner, but is super for quilters who would like a bit of a refresher as well.

Kathleen Alcock
Kathleen Alcock was in to quilt up this gorgeous little Halloween quilt.
Of course Kathleen did free motion on the quilt. I love the way Kathleen is so enthusiastic with all her quilting projects. Always ready for a new challenge and always ready to take the next step.

Lisa Selzer
Lisa Selzer was in to be certified on the Long Arm machine. She did just amazing!
We have known Lisa for quite a while now. She actually bought one of our cars years ago! How is that for a small world?
Lisa was thrilled at the result of her project when it was completed. The black Minky on the back was perfect and showed off her quilting!
