Lori Fowlie

Lori Fowlie brought her simple but very pretty little quilt in for us to longarm quilt for her. Not all quilts need to be intense piecing and complicated. This one shows that with beautiful fabrics and a basic layout you can achieve a gorgeous finish. I am sure this will be one very loved quilt!
The Edge to Edge digital design is called Asian Flow with a great movement throughout the quilt. Top thread is Glide Tabriz Orchid. Longarm quilter is Lori Dewart.
Thank you to Lori for sharing with everyone!

Val Schilds

Val Schilds brought her oh so cozy flannel little quilt in for us to longarm quilt for her. the flannel is so thick and soft you just want to curl up on the couch with it and maybe stitch some binding on. With a bowl of chips and binge watch Briggerton. Ok, back on track....
The quilt was quilted using the design Snow Winds for a wonderful season look. Top thread is Glide Pale Mist. The quilt was longarmed by Lori Dewart, who you see on the right side trying to be subtle. LOL.
Well done Val and thank you so much for sharing!

Blake Wolter

Blake Wolter was in for some retail therapy, which she did very well with. While in shopping I noticed her amazing shoes! I have never seen shoes like these and was immediately smitten!!!!
Check this out at the website for some of the most unique shoes I have ever seen! I know this has nothing to do with quilting, but I still think it is rather interesting! https://ca-hotchocolatedesign.glopalstore.com/

Weekly Quilting Tip

This week we offer a great little tip for more precise piecing. Ironing is one of the most important processes of quilting. When piecing I use no steam at all as I do not want to stretch those seams. I sew with a scant 1/4" seam allowance and then take it to the ironing board. I heat set it and then finger press to the darker fabric. Next step is to lightly apply the Acorn precision formula and press again. Don't move the iron around, just press it in place. It is amazing how flat and even the seams will be.
If you haven't tried the Acorn Precision pressing solution, give it a try and you will be amazed at the difference. That and remember to use a 1/4" scant seam allowance, by moving your needle over 1 to 2 spaces to the right. This is a game changer!
Pictured is the pen you will need to apply the formula. You put the solution in the pen and lightly apply directly to the seam.

Free Grocery Bag Pattern

I can't remember if I already had a free bag pattern in a previous newsletter, but thought it is always a needed and appreciated item you can easily make in an afternoon. Also you could use up a good part of your stashes to make one for everyone on the Christmas gift.
Fabric requirements : .5 meter for outside main (20") .6 for outside bottom and straps (24") .6 for lining (24")
The pattern comes from Robert Kaufman fabrics and is rated Beginner. You can always add elements to it as you gain confidence. Add pockets, applique and so much more!
