The Gees Bend Quilters
I have always been as interested in the stories of the quilts as much as the quilts themselves. Finding this article on the Gees Bend quilters is fascinating and very inspiring! The Gees Bend quilters used their traditions from Africa as well as a heavy influence of their music to create the quilts in an isolated area of Alabama during the early to mid 1900's.
If you enjoy the history of the quilts of the Gees Bend click on the Read More button for a great article!

Linda Anderson
Linda Anderson's quilt "Ocean Blues" is truly an example of how a peice of art can create a mood. Looking at the quilt is like you can almost here the waves lapping and seagulls careening overhead. Well, maybe not the seagull right overhead....that can end rather bad, spoiling the entire mood. But, I do love the ocean feeling that Linda's Quilt has.
Leslie Ford is the long arm quilter on this one using the E2E design Diana with glide thread Oxford for the top. Quilt finished at 70" x 80".
Thank you to Linda for sharing with us!

Sheila Erickson brought her beautiful French General quilt in to be quilted by Leslie Ford. The French General fabrics by Moda have been popular for many years now and we can all certainly see why with this quilt!
Sheila worked with a soft palette of reds, blues, creams and yellows to create this masterpiece. Simple squares and rectangles lets the fabric be the star of the show!A beautiful quilt that is going to be much loved no matter where it goes!
Leslie quilted the project using the E2E design Dear Heart and Glide thread Apricot Blush for the top. Quilt finished at 80" x 84".

Linda Grist
Linda Grist created this incredible quilt with simple 9 patches with sashings. She kept her background very neutral so the colours in the crosses really pop up and say hello! The quilt is a big one, finishing at 93" x 101". A little bit scrappy, a little bit planned and a whole lot fabulous!
Bill did the quilting using the E2E design Baker's Crop Circles with Glide thread colour Bone.
Thank you so much Linda for inspiring us all!
