Women Helping Women.

This year we are again participating in collecting purses for women in need. Gently used or new purses with supplies you think would be appreciated. This program has proved to be very popular and fills a need not just for the product the purses contain, but is such an emotional lift!
Socks, mitts or gloves, makeup, perfume, kleenex, hygiene products, gift cards, masks, wallet or anything else that you think would be good.
Drop off at our shop any time during business hours until Dec. 14th.

Shirley Huculak

Shirley Huculuk was in to longarm quilt her jaw dropping Wild Horses quilt. Shirley created this one for a Christmas present for a granddaughter who is crazy for horses.
The backing chosen is a light blue Minky so the cuddle factor just went up a notch or two! Absolutely gorgeous!

Diane Mousseau

Diane Mousseau brought her quilt in for us to longarm quilt for her. Her quilt is all in blacks, charcoals, greys and shades of whites. With bats and all sorts of Halloween themed fabrics this one was so much fun to work on!
Bill and Leslie did the quilting on the quilt with the chosen edge to edge design being spider webs which was just perfect! To really add the special touch Bill opted to use a black Hobbs 80/20 to keep the blacks a true black. The quilt turned out just fantastic!

Drina Latrace made this gorgeous tree skirt for a family member. The pattern is a free one included when you purchase the 10 degree ruler. I am out of stock on those at this time and have them on order. Who know if and when they will show up, but Christmas 2022 is coming too. So technically you would just be a keener! LOL

Anne Hall let the dogs out!

Anne Hall created this gorgeous quilt all in deep purples, pinks and blues for a special young girl. The Retreivers are special to this young girl as they are her best friends!
Anne Hall was down for a few days to get this one and the one below quilted using the new Softie Minky cosmic fabric for an incredibly soft cuddly quilt.
Pattern is adapted from Mod Dog by Colourwerx.

Anne Hall and Mr. Giraffe

The sister of the lucky Retreiver quilt recipient shown above is in love with giraffes. This was a bit more challenging but worked out just gorgeous. Pattern is by Violet Craft called Giraffe Abrstractions. She is thinking a better name for this one is A Diamond in the Rough. I agree.
The backing is the same as for the Retriever one as the colours are perfect! Bill and Leslie worked on both of the quilts. Thank you to you both!

Bee Happy Quilt Book

Just in this week is the Bee Happy Quilt book by Lori Holt.
The patterns in the book represent all the things that make Lori Holt happy. What a great idea for a quilt! What would your quilt look like if you themed it about all the things that make you happy?
Work from your scraps or purchase some new fabrics to go with some bits you already have! That would probably be the route I would take. We have lots of chicken wire fabric for backgrounds and the appliques and hexies I am sure I have something in the stash. Maybe.

Cosmos the Northcott Colours

We had huge response to the Cosmos Oxygen kits in fall batiks. We are sold out of the kits but the free patterns are still available through Northcott.
The only oops in the pattern was the final measurement. It finishes at 60" x 77" not the 66" x 78". Other than that you cut and sew everything as stated.

Mini Retreat in 2022

Another retreat at South Thompson Inn is planned for next March.
Dates are March 18,19 and 20th
Starts at 9am on the 18th and the retreat ends at 5pm on the 20th. You have 3 full days plus evenings if you wish.
Lunch, morning and afternoon coffee and snacks are provided. Your breakfast and dinner are up to you, to keep the cost down and give everyone options.
This retreat is for UFO projects only, with Anne Hall helping you on your Quiltworx and Be Colourful projects.

Sewing Machine Repair

Bill will continue to bring machines over on the Tuesday night to Salmon Arm, meeting up with Hector on Wednesday, bringing your machines back for the following Thursday.
***There is no added cost for Bill to bring your machines over to Salmon Arm.***
Hector then takes the machines back to Kelowna to service and you get your machine back the following Thursday.
Please have your machine in to us by the end of the day on Tuesdays.
