Best Christmas Present ever!

I am being a bit boastful but I just have to say I have been given the best Christmas present ever!

My staff, led by Coral, has done all my inventory early so Bill and I can have time off at Christmas from the 25th of December to January 2nd! This has never happened and I am not sure if I will know how to behave. I can guarantee that there will be some serious sewing time, sleep time and lots of totally wrong foods.

I am so incredibly lucky to have staff that has given me the most precious gift of all for a shop owner.....Time! Thank you does not seem like enough but I truly thank you from the bottom of my heart. And if I win the lottery we are all going to the fabric warehouses with trucks!

Diane Overton

Diane Overton was in to be certified to use our APQS Millie long arm machine. She drove in from Blind Bay on the Shuswap to spend the day with us.

Diane took to the long arm like a duck to water and in 3 hours she had her bed size quilt done! Isn't the turtle amazing? Her collage work is gorgeous!

Lynne Vanderlinde was in to long arm quilt her gorgeous little lap quilt with a digital pattern of different wildlife scenes by Hoffman.

Lynne created the flying geese blocks to set off the borders and then we found the absolutely perfect border print! And it was on sale! Hard to see from the picture but trust me....it is stunning!

Lorraine Silbernagel was in to long arm quilt her beautiful quilt done in plaids and solids. Her choice in the bright colours with coordinating solid stripes is just spot on!

Lorraine is a very busy quilter and lately I have noticed her branching out into a more contemporary look. It will be interesting to see where she goes from here!

Teapot Sampler BOM

From In the Beginning Fabrics we have a new BOM coming in 2020. This one is called "Teapot Sampler" and finishes at 72" x 84".

The project will be over 10 months and is using regular cotton fabrics.
Bright colours and a fun design this quilt will look great in many different situations. Like my house. LOL

Diana Hewins was in to long arm quilt this gorgeous quilt she created using a panel in the center. Her choice of colours for the surrounding stars is perfect!

Diana chose a new panto called Swirly Stars and a green Glide thread for perfect results. We always have fun when Diana comes in as she is so comfortable with her skills and her eagerness to try the next challenge! Also she loves to visit....and so do we!

Thank you to Diana for giving us a great idea of what to do with our panels.

Margaret Mitchell was in to long arm quilt her fun Super Heroes quilt she made. What a fun project!

Her binding will be made from all the cornerstone fabrics joined together. I love binding done in this method. There is a little guy this Christmas who is going to be pretty darn excited to open this gift!

Sew Days in 2020

Due to rising costs our cost of Sew Days will be going up in January to $10 per person.

I was so sad to have to do this but it is a tough market out there right now. Just wanted to give a bit of a heads up for all the Friday sew girls.
