Meet Your Neighbour

trish-berry-002

This week I would like you to meet Trish Berry. Trish was born and raised in Kamloops. She is from a large family....part of the Bepple clan.

Trish attended KSS, graduated and has lived and worked since then in Kamloops. She loves this community, the people and the weather. We all do Trish! This is a great place to live.

Trish has many hobbies, mostly centered around the crafting industry. She crochets, cross stitches and has been quilting for about 10 years now. I asked her what part of the quilting process she likes the best....she loves the fabrics but has also a love of the construction of the project. Seeing how everything fits together is part of the enjoyment she gets from the quilting!

Thank you for sharing with us all Trish! You are a positive person to have in the shop any day and we love having you!

Mary Abbott was in to show us her Stripped and Buttoned Bag she made using Betty Oswell's pattern!

Mary used a strip pack which makes the colour blending so much easier! And it clears out a wee tiny space in the sewing room so you can buy another one! LOL

Thank you for sharing with us Mary!

Women to Women Program

kindness image

Our Women to Women program is up and going for the Christmas Season.

Christmas is a time of joy, family and festivities. However it does not always bring the best out in some situations. Financial pressures, substance abuse issues, family dynamics and a host of other issues tend to flare up. We started our program a few years ago to help women in crises at Christmas.

Bring in a stocking, a cosmetic bag or ? that you have put some little treasures into. You can also donate cash to help with programs at the shelter. Or you can just bring the stocking/cosmetic bag, or you can bring some items to fill with. Suggested items below:

    • Hats, mitts or scarves
    • Chocolates
    • Shampoo
    • Lotion
    • Soaps
    • Toothpaste and brush
  • Thank you so much for your kindness and we really appreciate your help in this worthy cause. By the way, ignore the dot at the beginning of this sentence. It will not go away!!!

Shannamay was in to long arm quilt her awesome wolf quilt this week! I absolutely love the way she has used some lighter colours in the project, where I would have gone dark colours and it would have become "The Wolf in the Dark Abyss" ....LOL

Great job on this one Shannamay! Thank you for sharing with us!
