Donna Fluery

Donna Fluery was in to longarm quilt her gorgeous nuetral toned lap quilt. With help from Bill she had it all done lickety split and was one happy lady!
Donna's quilts are always so lovely to work with it is just fun to watch them come to life on the longarm. Donna's pattern is called In the Shadows so perfect for her chosen palette. The thread for the top was Dijon which I probably would have never chosen until I saw it on the quilt! It is so perfect. A bit of a pop and still subtle. Edge to edge design done on the computer is called Baroque Hearts.
Thank you to Donna for sharing your quilt with everyone. Also as a side note: Donna makes fabulous muffins which yes....I took those home too! No shame here...LOL

Diane Mills

Diane Mills was in to pick up her quilt she had us quilt for her. She particularly wanted a water theme for her finish and Leslie Ford the longarmer absolutely nailed it!
The chosen quilting design for the quilt is called Rip Curl and it really gave the look of waves and wind. With great piecing and pressing Leslie knocked it out of the park! Donna was thrilled with her quilt and will now have to get that binding on for the final finish.
Thank you so much Diane for sharing your quilting journey with us all!

Nancy Cuthbert

Nancy was in to longarm quilt her Cosmos quilt on the weekend. If you remember we had the Cosmos kits and pattern in the newsletter last week. Don't you just love her choice in colours?
This quilt is a quilt that is meant to be used and loved. To go camping, in the car, back of the couch and anywhere a warm and cuddly hug is needed. A great quilt Nancy!

Belle Rose

What a gorgeous quilt! Belle Rose by Andover fabrics is a lovely vintage line of fabrics that is sure to be a favourite with many. Not overly difficult but a very effective quilt. Finishes at 72" x 84" it is perfect for on top of the bed or on the couch. Maybe even hanging on a bannister?
The project is rated at an intermediate level. Betty Oswell pieced the sample and then being the keener that she is, she turned around and quilted it under her domestic sewing machine! We have decided that either she or I will be keeping this one as it is just so beautiful!
Available in the shop or online at https://www.fabricshelf.ca/shop/c/p/BELLE-ROSE-725-x-84-x60503854.htm

Lauren Embury was in to longarm quilt her gorgeous quilt for a grandchild.
Titled "Stay Wild Moon Child" this one is a bed size quilt with bright happy colours and beautiful placement of colours.
With help from best friend Verna Miller and Bill she got the quilt done and headed home to get the binding on. Computer design for edge to edge in a swirling star pattern. Thread chosen is by Glide so you know there is going to be minimal issues with thread breaks and other headaches.
Well done Lauren! Thank you so very much for sharing your talents with us all!

Cheryl Feller

Cheryl Feller brought her quilt in for us to longarm for her. The quilt pattern is a Disappearing Nine Patch and I don't know when I have seen a quilt in that pattern that I loved as much. The sashing with the red and whites, the block placement and fabric choices are absolutely perfect!
We are running out of room in the shop so everyone in the shop helped to hold the quilt so we could get a picture. I think you can still get a pretty good idea as to how outstanding this quilt is.
Thank you so much Cheryl for sharing your creativity with us all. Love your quilt!

Tanya Knippleberg

Tanya Knippleberg was in to longarm quilt her stunning winter quilt. Bill was the helper on duty and with an edge to edge design on the computer called Snow Winds she finished with a jaw dropping quilt!
Tanya's fabric choices were so lovely every time I went past I had to pet it just a little bit. Her bacvking is a teal with snowflakes on it. The front is a bit modern, a bit vintage and a whole lot awesome!
Thank you to Tanya for sharing your creativity and talents with us. Tanya is keeping this one so maybe she can bring it back every so often just for me to pet.

Holiday Cheer

We are down to the last week before Christmas and I am sure you all have your projects almost finished or wrapped up and under the tree. Me? Not so much.
I did come across this free pattern by Henry Glass Fabrics for placemats that I thought you could maybe whip up in your spare time...LOL
The fabrics are older but any fabric will work and the placemats would look lovely on your table. Simple flying Geese blocks and let the larger piece of fabric do the rest. I am putting these into my file of the "to do for Christmas" but not specifying which year. Always an option for you too!
