Meet Your Neighbour
| |
This week I would like everyone to meet Terri Turriff! Terri has been supporting our shop for many years now and we have gotten to know her fairly well.
Terri was born in Halifax and lived there the first six years of her life. From there she moved to Ontario and then to Labrador. After living in Labrador she moved to Kamloops as an adult. The first winter here there was very little snow, so her husband used a broom! They were beside themselves they were so thrilled with the weather!
Terri's mom taught her to sew as a young girl. She started with sewing for her Barbie dolls. She resisted quilting as she did not want to become totally addicted to quilting and build her fabric stash even larger. Her sister kept at her and about 10 years ago she finally took the plunge. Yes it was a plunge. And yes her stash has grown ...... a lot! I totally understand this!
In quilting Terri's favourite part of the process is the construction. She loves to see how it all works together!
Thank you Terri for being such a lovely lady with a good word to say about everyone. Never a cranky pants, she comes in with a smile and leaves with a smile!

Women to Women Program
Our Women to Women program is up and going for the Christmas Season.
Christmas is a time of joy, family and festivities. However it does not always bring the best out in some situations. Financial pressures, substance abuse issues, family dynamics and a host of other issues tend to flare up. We started our program a few years ago to help women in crises at Christmas.
Bring in a stocking, a cosmetic bag or ? that you have put some little treasures into. You can also donate cash to help with programs at the shelter. Or you can just bring the stocking/cosmetic bag, or you can bring some items to fill with. Suggested items below:
- Hats, mitts or scarves
- Chocolates
- Shampoo
- Lotion
- Soaps
- Toothpaste and brush
- Thank you so much for your kindness and we really appreciate your help in this worthy cause. By the way, ignore the dot at the beginning of this sentence. It will not go away!!!
