Our Hero of the week is a group.....a fabulous group in the Brock Shopping mall that all work at Heather's Fabric Shelf!
Yes, the Heroes are my staff.
Every one of you has worked so hard, so committed to our shop I am so very grateful for each and everyone of you.
Coral......you are like the sister I never had. You have my back every day. You make me smile and give me courage when I need it. thank you so much.
Kenna......we have known each other a long time now and I have to say I am truly blessed to have you in my life. Your creativity never ceases to amaze us. Your empathy for your peers, your sense of humour and ability to make our store look incredible are truly gifts. thank you Kenna for all you do!
Beth......we had our eye on you for a long time and we finally got you! You have brought so much enthusiasm and passion to the long arm component of the shop. Bill even gets a day off once in a while now! thank you Beth!
Kathy.....What can I say? You were an adoreable little girl and now you are an adorable young woman. Your compassion, your desire to learn and above all that incredible smile and giggle just brightens all our days! Thank you Kathy for being Kathy!
Betty....There are no words. You are my best friend, my mentor, my sounding board and I can't imagine my life without you. Thank you thank you for everything.
Shalina.....My numbers girl. thank you so much for coming to the rescue with our bookkeeping! I don't know what I would do without you every Tuesday. Your understanding, your smile and the way you fit in with the team make you so very special to us.

Are you ready for Customer Appreciation Day?
Saturday December 16th we are setting aside as a day to celebrate.....you!
All of us at the Shelf are so grateful for all of our wonderful customers who have supported us through thick and thin.
Heather has made [ with help from Betty ] 50 gifts for the first 50 customers in the shop! I did not cook but I did decorate.....that is the only hint I am giving out. You will love them!
We have sale prices up to 60% offon product and even some new items to show you!
Kathy and Coral have all sorts of games and door prizes ready to go. It is going to be such a fun day!

We have a winner...
Congrats Sally Andrysiak!
Last weekend Brock Shopping mall had a Celebrate Christmas event with a Craft fair, and other events going on. One of the contests was a Crack the Code contest with your name being entered to win $1200 worth of product including a quilt pieced and quilted by Betty Oswell! So guess who won? Sally Andrysiak, one of our customers won! Check out the photo of her holding her quilt! Congratulations Sally and enjoy your quilt!

Sandra O'Reilly
Sandra O'Reilly was in to show us her Casserole cover she made using a pattern by Chili Pepper Patterns. This is such a cool idea. You carry your dish to the potluck dinner, and then you can open it and place it on the table as a table center! How clever is that? Sandra says the pattern went together so quick and easy using paper piecing for perfect points!

Sew In Days are now Wednesdays and Fridays
Bring your machine and whatever you are working on and come on in for a day of laughing, eating and maybe even some sewing! We would love to see you all here! Cost per Sew in day is $5.
Please note - As of January the rate for sew in days will go to $10 per day.

Betty's Free Stocking Class!
Good times were to be had at the Shelf with Betty teaching her free Stocking class. This is the 2nd group of students to go through the program. Unfortunately I did not get photos of the first and thethird classes. Trust me they were gorgeous!

Working with fat quarters you can make this gorgeous wall/throw quilt and learn to get those perfect points and curved edges. Patterns are in stock now. Please ask as we have them put aside for people signing up for the class. More can be ordered if needed.

Circle of Life Class
This spectacular quilt is made over 5 days of class in July 2018.
I have dates for the class! July 24th through July 28th. I don't have a price yet but should have it in the next few days and then it will be up on the website.

Quilt Canada is coming to Vancouver 2018!

Val Bissat and hubby Bill were down from the Cariboo to long arm quilt this gorgeous hand appliqued and hand pieced quilt. This one is destined to be a family heirloom! Beautiful work you two!

Deirdre Morse was in to become a certified APQS long arm quilter and brought this gorgeous Braid quilt to be her very first try at it! She did amazing and the the quilt is so pretty!

Gund Bear contest ended yesterday...
The in-store Gund Bear contest ended yesterday and look who won the Bear!
Joyce Racicot. Kathy Cholette's mom was the big winner! All the names go back into the barrel for a draw for the grand prize of trips, groceries, gas and more!
Lucky Joyce! she strapped her Bear into the back of the car and off she toddled home!

New fabric has arrived....you have no idea how much we love new fabric around here. My staff behaves completely inappropriate. LOL.

This is the Raffle Quilt that the Cotton Pickers Guild has taken a year to make!
Dinah Mulvaney did the custom long arm quilting and it is gorgeous.
The binding still has to go on and I will post a picture of it finished ASAP.
Tickets are available for $5 each at our shop or Flutterby Thrift shop.
Tickets are on sale until December 24th, 2017.

Candy Cane Village - Coming in January!
Donna Rickman did the sample using mostly fabrics from her stash.
Patterns available in the shop. We are also offering Snow Globes by the
same pattern company. Take a peek it and try to decide which one to make. Some are making both!
Our first meeting will be January 27.
Check out your sewing room for scraps of fabrics, ric rac, buttons and more.
Get Together days will be $10 per day.
