Leigh Beech was in to longarm quilt her awesome Dragonfly quilt. The dragonfly fabric is a wide back but it works just fine! Quilters are know for their creativity and resourcefulness.
This one is a large bed size quilt but Leigh had it quilted, with help from the always entertaining Lori Dewart, in just a few hours. Just have to love having the computer so you can quilt any design quickly and perfectly!
Thank you so much to Leigh for sharing your gorgeous quilt and all your creativity with us all!

Catherine Lukow

Catherine Lukow brought her quilt in for us to longarm for her. This one is for a lucky friend of hers as a memory of Hawaii. Don't you think it really has that tropical Hawaii feel?
It is just gorgeous with spot on piecing and an excellent choice in fabrics. The backing is a wide backing called Safari. We carry it in a few colours and love the look of it on the quilts. Check out the photo below for the backing. https://www.fabricshelf.ca/shop/c/p/108-SAHARA-TURQUOISE-x61026061.htm
Edge to edge design by computer is called Wave on Wave with Glide thread called Pistachio for that beautiful finish.
Do you need a quilt quilted by us? Bring it on in and we will get you all signed up. To figure out the cost of the quilting take the width and times it by the length and then times it by .03 cents. So if your quilt is 50" x 60" times it by .03 to equal $90.00. Our turnaround is pretty quick right now so bring them in and get them done!
Well done Catherine and thank you so much for sharing with us.

Monna Manhas

Monna Manhas brought her incredible Bargello quilt in for us to longarm. This quilts was a few years in the making but the finish line is in sight! Just the binding to go....we are all cheering you on Monna!
Monna had made a promise to make one large bed size quilt for each of her kids. The bargello quilt in clear bright colours was perfect for her daughter Jav and husband Charles. A very lucky couple!
Bill did the longarm quilting on this one with help from Leslie Ford. Design chosen is called Chantilly Lace recommended by several longarmers as a great pattern for Bargello quilts. This is a big one measuring at 94" x 112".
Monna says this is a one of quilt. She is loving the quilt but not too keen on starting another one this big and this intense. I will let you know how that works out for her...LOL

Paula Frijns

Paula Frijns was in to show us her quilt that she rather went by the seat of her pants. The pattern is of her own making but based on Solar Flares by Quiltworx.
Fabrics were purchased here at the Shelf and also using fabrics she already had in her stash. Lots of Northcott fabrics in this one. Paula has made this one for a family member who is going to thrilled!
Carole Gardener did the longarm quilting on this quilt and it is perfect! Carole is a very precise, artistic and experienced longarmer. Congrats to Carole on a beautiful job of bringing this quilt to life!
Congratulations also to Paula on a beautiful quilt! Your talents just keep growing...You are amazing! As a side note....Paula is one of the kindest, nicest and loveliest lady you could ever wish to meet.

Brenda Bliss

A darling little quilt by Brenda Bliss! This one is from a kit called Cute as a Button Fabrics in sunny colours and critters wearing glasses. Sounds weird doesn't it? It is not. It is super cute! Hence the name.
The design chosen to quilt it is called Dear Heart and did a great finish on the project. Apricot Blush Glide thread was the icing on the cake!
If you want to be like Brenda and make one of these simple baby quilts check it out in the shop or on the website https://www.fabricshelf.ca/shop/c/p/CUTE-AS-A-BUTTON-x60116813.htm

Kathy Mitchell

Take a look at this lovely little baby quilt Kathy Mitchell pieced and Brenda Bliss quilted with help from Mr. Bill.
The project started with a panel and grew from there. I love the size of the quilt as it is usable from the crib to as a toddler on the couch watching Paw Patrol. Or whatever toddlers watch nowadays...LOL
Animal Crackers was the edge to edge design chosen which just by the name alone, you know was spot on! Top thread was Glide Magic Mint for perfect results. Lori has just put in a huge order for thread so stay tuned for the happy arrival of that.
Thank you to Kathy for sharing your quilt journey with us!

Does your ironing board need a bit of a fresher look? Mine sure does and I have some great ideas how to pep it up! Why not try a new cover on your ironing board?
This pattern does not ask for you to use the fabric you can purchase that is the silver aluminum product. If you choose to use that it will be fine but I would suggest you cover up the old cover as opposed to starting all new. StudioE puts out a great free pattern for a ironing board cover and laundry bag.
