Sandra O'Reilly

Sandra O'Reilly brought her awesome African Safari quilt in for us to longarm quilt for her. This pattern and kit sold out very fast and you can see why with the gorgeous digital print and the colours!
The quilt is wall hanging size and will look great on any wall. Edge to edge design using the computer was called Fort which is a modern take on triangles. The geometric pattern really enhanced the quilt top. Thread chosen is a Glide gold for the top. Leslie Ford did the longarming for her.
Thank you so much for sharing with us Sandra! You are an amazing quilter and even more amazing friend!

Miriam Cavani

Miriam Cavani brought her gorgeous little baby quilt in for us to longarm for her. Miriam chose soft baby colours suitable for boys or girls.
Pattern is called Aqua Birdy. The Edge to edge design used with the computer is called Flirtatious which a great stitch out locking down all the seams without being too linear or rigid. Top thread is Glide thread called Battleship which is a neutral grey tone. Quilted by Leslie Ford.
Thank you to Miriam for sharing your talents with us all!

Pat Muldoe

Pat Muldoe was in to longarm quilt her gorgeous little baby quilt with help from Leslie. Pat and Leslie got on fabulous and I can see them working together again soon. Lots of laughter and fun coming from the longarm room!
Pat's Baby Animals quilt turned out just great with an edge to edge design on the computer called Animal Crackers. All sorts of Safari animals frolicking across the quilt. Thread chosen for her project was Glide Warm Grey 4 which is actually more of a warm taupe colour I think. Pat chose a Poly batting by Quilters Dream for incredible softness and durability. Poly batting has changed over the years and is no longer like sewing through insulation. Apparently I am still not over those days!
Thank you to Pat for a fun day at the shop and for inspiring us all!

Jean Cooper

Jean Cooper brought her awesome wilderness quilt in for us to longarm quilt for her. Jean chose the Bear,Moose and Pine edge to edge design for her quilt.
Lori Dewart did the quilt with great results. Jean wanted to keep the outdoor theme consistent to the quilt and this design achieved that perfectly. Glide thread chosen was Medium Grey for a fabulous neutral finish. Sometimes you really don't want the top thread colour or design to take over from the quilt itself.
Thank you to Jean for sharing with us all! Your quilt just makes me want to curl up with a good book and your warm cozy quilt!

Brenda Sill

Brenda Sill brought her 2 quilts in for us to longarm for her. Brenda chose to use Quilters Dream Poly batting for the softness and the durability. Love that Batting!!
The quilt pattern Brenda chose is called Zach's Quilt Pattern. Glide thread Affinity Variegated Rainbow was the colour for the top of both quilts. One quilt was edge to edge quilted with West Wind at Night design and the other with a design called Fireworks. I love them both! Just a spectacular finish!
Leslie did the longarming on the quilts and totally enjoyed the dramatic look to them both! Thank you so much Brenda for sharing your creativity with us all!

Lynda Dingwall

Lynda Dingwall brought her awesome whimsical Mystical Journey quilt in for us to quilt for her. She started with a panel and it grew from there.
Beautiful jewel tones are used in this eye catching design. Lynda chose the edge to edge design on the computer called Rip Curl with a light blue Glide thread for a great accent to the quilt.
Do you need a quilt quilted by us? Bring it on in and we will get you all signed up. To figure out the cost of the quilting take the width and times it by the length and then times it by .03 cents. So if your quilt is 50" x 60" times it by .03 to equal $90.00. Our turnaround is pretty quick right now so bring them in and get them done!

The Journey Home

In light of the recent traumatic events that have unfolded at former Residential Schools across Canada, Karen Erickson created 'Every Child Matters' out of reverence to those grieving. This painting depicts two siblings who were finally set free after being grimly discovered at a Residential School. The children who are shown holding hands were torn apart from each other, but now reunited as they make their way back home. Karen included beautiful imagery such as a moon and feathers to represent the First Nations, Inuit and Metis people joining together to guide the two siblings home. 100% of the net proceeds from the sales of the panel from 'The Journey Home' will be donated to the Indian Residential School Survivors Society and the Orange Shirt Society. For more information on these charities, please visit http://www.irsss.ca/ or http://www.orangeshirtday.org/
We have panels priced at $5.99 each available in the shop and on line at: https://www.fabricshelf.ca/iishop?form_version=2&showSearchResults=1&search_keyword=the+journey+home&image=Search
