Sew Days notice!!
Sew day this coming Friday, Feb 28th is not on Friday, Feb 28th. It is on the Thursday February 27th.

South Thompson Inn Retreat!
This fall Anne Hall and Heather Fagervik are hosting a quilt retreat at the fabulous South Thompson Inn!
I am so excited to see this one happen, close to home, fantastic food menu, option of staying at the hotel or going home each night and to top it off the projects are amazing!

Beginner Sampler Class
We are offering a Beginner class with Sampler blocks. The beauty of doing a sampler quilt is that you learn several different techniques and skills.
The project finishes at 54" x 54" but you have opportunity to make yours larger if you wish. The photo shows it as a flimsy as I finished piecing literally 10 minutes ago. It will be quilted next week, binding on and then it will be even more gorgeous!
Cost of the class is $100 with yours truly, Heather Fagervik, as your instructor. Dates of classes are Wednesdays beginning on April 1st and the other class is offered on Saturdays beginning on April 4th. These are 4 class programs and guaranteed to be a fun way to introduce you to this wonderful hobby.

Dori Hampton and sister Darla
Dori Hampton and her sister Darla were in to long arm quilt this beauty of a lap quilt last week! We love it when these 2 come in as they are just so much fun!
The quilt is an interesting layout as it changes from seeing a star to seeing individual blocks. We don't have many of the blue, pink and white quilts come through so it is always interesting to see how different quilters interpret the pattern. Well done!
Sad to say that Darla's nails were not done for this event, unlike last time. She lives on a ranch and it is calving season so nail manicures are not high on the list of needed things to be done. You both looked lovely and thank you so much for coming to spend your time with us!

Maggie Pycock
Maggie Pycock was in to long arm quilt her gorgeous little wall quilt. Maggie is very good at working with her colours and values of the fabrics.
Today she chose a bit more difficult panto but discovered that she is a very good leaf and flower stitcher! That makes it all worth while right there!
Two things I would like you all to take note of: Her outfit matches her quilt perfectly and her cow slippers are just the best!

Judy McCormick
Judy McCormick was in to show us her awesome little quilt she made in class a while back with my friend Linda Rowbotham. Linda had come down from Haida Gwaii to teach the class on stars that look as though they dance across the quilt!
Loved her choice in colours and next comes the fun part.....the quilting of the quilt! She is all set to roll with her binding ready and backing.
Have fun with this one Judy and we would love to see it all done! No pressure. LOL

Leftovers!
Val Brechit was in to show us her placemats she made using a pattern called "Leftovers" by Canuck Quilter Designs.
Super easy to make from your stash or use a precut strip roll. I did try for a good picture of the placemats and the pattern and somehow managed to get a shot of Val's feet in the photo. But no head shot! Sheesh!
We also have kits available for table runner and 4 placemats in green as well as a blue version.

Flowers and Bees
Tildas World has another very awesome quilt available as a free download. It is called Flowers and Bees with the cutest pattern ever!
This pretty quilt is an easy design to make as it uses just two blocks – a Flower block and a Bee block. Use a soft grey as shown in the sample or try a light blue or even white!
Quilt finishes at 62" x 80' so a nice size for a lap or twin bed.

Interlude
Interlude fabric line by Wilmington Fabrics is now in the shop! Do you love music fabric? I sure do and this line is gorgeous!
Charcoal greys and blacks, ice blues and creams make this line so tempting! At the left you see the panel and below are a couple of the coordinates. The line is fairly large so this is just a little teaser@
