Revelstoke Retreat
The Mt. Revelstoke Quilter's Guild has asked me to get the word out on their upcoming retreat in September. This is a Quiltworx retreat with the always lovely Anne Hall as your instructor. I will not be there to maintain the discipline and provide entertainment but I am sure the ladies are more than qualified to uphold the standards. Give a call if you are interested or email Anne at hallanne44@telus.net

Diana Hewins

Diana Hewins was in to long arm quilt her incredible Mystery quilt from last fall's retreat at South Thompson Inn. She got a good start on it at the retreat and finished it over the fall and into January.
Every day the participants were given a section of the quilt to create without seeing what the finished project would look like. They did have a choice of palette, but the rest was an unknown.
Diana's quilt is just amazing and was a treat to longarm with her. The chosen design for the edge to edge quilting was called Plump with the size expanded due to the size of the quilt. Everything worked out perfect! What a masterpiece!
Anne Hall was the instructor with myself looking after the discipline and entertainment. Diana is relatively new to paper piecing so don't be afraid to tackle what you think is way beyond you. One step at time and look what you can do!
Thank you to Diana for sharing your quilt, Bill for the help on the longarm and Anne Hall for the retreat event!

Tote bags are a great way to use some of your amazing focal fabrics you have in your stash. You know....the fabric you had to have and have no idea what to do with it. We have lots of tote bag patterns in the shop and online. Check them out!

Donna Fluery

Donna Fluery was in to longarm quilt her gorgeous lap size quilt all in neutral tones of creams, blacks and taupes. Donna's piecing was perfect which made it so much easier to work with.
Donna chose the edge to edge design called Dear Heart and with her Minky backing it was awesome. I love the plush backing for showing off the design of the quilting. Great texture. Donna was a bit shy for a photo but you can see her hand in the corner, which is lovely! LOL
Thank you to Donna for sharing your talents with us all and especially for the yummy oatmeal/blueberry muffins you brought! They were delicious!

Lynda Dingwall

Lynda Dingwall brought her awesome Polar Journey quilt in for us to longarm quilt for her. Notice how the quilt matches her sweatshirt? A sign of a true quilter when her outfit matches the quilt she is working on! LOL
The panels are now sold out but I am sure the fabric designer will be coming out with another great print soon. The richness of the colours in the fabric and the movement is just fabulous!
Do you need a quilt quilted by us? Bring it on in and we will get you all signed up. To figure out the cost of the quilting take the width and times it by the length and then times it by .03 cents. So if your quilt is 50" x 60" times it by .03 to equal $90.00. Our turnaround is pretty quick right now so bring them in and get them done!

Lynda Dingwall

Lynda Dingwall also brought in her lovely lap size quilt designed by our very own Leslie Ford. Bill did the longarming on this one with a great edge to edge design with bears and pine trees.
When Lynda had the quilt pieced she found that she had some fabrics left over so created the pillow and tea cozy! Smart lady to use the leftovers right away so they don't go the bin to live for the next few months or years.
Lynda, thank you so much for sharing with everyone and giving us all some ideas as to what to do with the leftovers. A beautiful project and shows your talents off very well!

Islay Oatway

Islay Oatway brought her Beautiful Diamond quilt in for us to longarm quilt for her. She had the fabrics for quite a while and decided to use them in this diamond pattern which she based on a photo.
Islay is a very experienced quilter with the most amazing piecing! Everything was on the bias and everything was perfectly straight and true! Holy smokes that takes some talent! Quilted by Leslie Ford using the edge to edge design called Time Warp and it turned out beautifully!
Thank you so much Islay for sharing your quilt journey with us all. You are so talented!
