Update on Bill and the Long Arm

Bill with computer

Bill continues to heal well, but will not be off the suction pump by the end of January. It will continue to be his dancing partner for a while yet. As a dancing partner it is very slender but gurgles endlessly. That is not like me at all.

Thank you so much for all your offers to help and caring for him. Warms those cockles in my heart!

We are  opening up the long arm program more in February with a few times a week for customers to come in to long arm their own quilts. You will have to work as Bill can't be on his feet for too long of a time and we are so appreciative of your understanding.
At this point I have dates available: Feb. 13, 18 and 24th with Bill. I will post dates if any others come available.

If you would like to come in to long arm your own quilt let us know and we can schedule you in. We are taking appointments for February forward. Give us a call at 250-376-7630

In the meantime Lori Dewart is  quilting people's quilts so please keep bringing them in to be quilted.
We have a fast turnaround with loads of gorgeous edge to edge designs to choose from.

Thank you so much to everyone for their patience and understanding as we muddle our way through this situation.

Get Creative with all those panels

get_creative_with_fabric_panels

Are you like me with all kinds of fabric panels and stumped as to what to do with them? You can always just put borders on but really? There must be something more!

In my travels around the web sites I found this one put out by Marcus Brothers and it has loads of ideas. Everything from blocks to taking the trims off for cuffs on pjs.

Brenda Hodgkiss

brenda-hodgkiss

Brenda Hodgkiss brought this gorgeous quilt in for us to quilt for her. Lori Dewart did the quilting using the computer. The design chosen is one with Dragonflies swooping along. Just gorgeous.

Now the "eat your heart out with green envy" bit.....Brenda found it at a Thrift shop for $20!!!! When she got the quilt back I have say she had some tears just because it was so lovely. Brenda has decided to keep this one and I am sure it will be treasured for many years to come!

Thank you to Brenda for letting us be a part of this gorgeous quilt story!!

Esther Tremblay

esther-tremblay

Esther Tremblay brought her Sampler quilt in for us to quilt. This quilt was a major undertaking with many small pieces to sew into many small blocks. Whew!!

Lori Dewart did the quilting using a wonderful edge to edge design called Flirtacious which was perfect for locking down all the seams and creating a light airy look across the entire quilt.

Esther is on the right in the photo and Lori is on the left. Notice how each of their outfits set the quilt off. Just wonderful ladies!

Thank you to Esther for letting us be a chapter in the story of your quilt and thank you to Lori for again a fantastic job of quilting!

Mary Abbott

mary-abbott

Mary Abbott was the winner of the Gift Certificate for January! She was pretty darn excited and wasted no time in getting in here!

Did you know that every time you purchase product at reg. price your name goes into a draw for a $50 Gift Certificate at the end of the month?

Worried that you ordered on line?...worry no more! We put your name in for you!

Good luck to everyone on the next draw and let's all smile in all the excitement that Mary had with her GC!

Wendy Hennings

wendy-hennings

Wendy Hennings was in to show us her quilt that she designed, peiced and then quilted. How is that for determined????

Wendy went on her computer and googled Modern quilts and found this basic design. She then adapted it for what she wanted and ended up with a Queen size quilt as  well as a Double with the same basic layout.

A little tidbit of information for you all.....
Wendy sewed this project on her 70 year old Singer sewing machine! She just loves her machine and says that it is just so incredibly dependable and smooth! Her dad was a Singer Technician in Vernon and that would be when this sewing machine was first bought for the family. Interesting!

Thank you so much to Wendy for sharing with us all and the little bit about your dad was great!

Wendy Lebek

wendy-lebek-the-winner-2

Wendy Lebek was in to pick up her scrap blocks she won in last months contest. Wendy loves scrappy quilts and can't wait to get home and start planning her project!

She actually phoned her husband who works in Northern Alberta to tell him about the prize! Not sure if he was as excited as she was. I am sure he was happy for her!

The correct number of blocks was 48 and she was the only one to guess that number.

Congratulations to Wendy for winning your blocks! Have fun and show us all what you do with them all!

Dapper Dog

Livvy sweater

Doreen Czerkawaski has just retired and anxious to get her little home based business going. I wanted to give her a shout out as many of us have a dog who needs some outfits.

In the photo is our littlest one, Livvy....short for Olive Oyl...wearing her new sweater made by Doreen! Isn't she just the cutest? Livvy is an odd shape with a long body, chest that almost hits the ground and 2" legs! And they say dogs look like their owners...LOL

Livvy was a bit of a challenge to fit but Doreen just nailed it! Her prices are very reasonable and she fits the coat to your dog's measurements. We are just thrilled with the outcome!

You can contact Doreen on facebook - Dapper Dog or email her for more photos and information at Doreenc@shaw.ca
