Change in our Hours

As you may know we experimented in December with closing at 4pm Monday through Thursday. In the new year I questioned my staff and guess what? They all loved closing at 4pm!!
So now the hours are 10am to 4pm Monday through Saturday. Thank you to everyone for your understanding and thank you to my staff for working as a team! Love it!

Christine Loewen has made this jaw dropping Orion Star quilt in batiks. The rich tones of the purples and greens are just gorgeous!
Christine chose to keep the E2E quilting fairly simple so the quilt is the star of the party. She sure achieved that!
Christine's quilt finished at 80" x 98". The quilt design chosen is called Sound Wave with Glide Silver thread for the top.

Margaret's quilt finished at 61" x 74" for a great lap size quilt. The Pattern is called Bundle of 10. You need 10 fat quarters to create the project. The E2E design chosen is Bauhaus with Glide Military Gold for the top.

Attic Window Quilt

Have you ever tried making an Attic Windows quilt? They are amazingly simple but you do have to pay attention to the tones of the fabric to get the 3D look.
Robert Kaufman has a free pattern for an Attic Windows quilt. The quilt finishes at 56" x 62". for a comfortable lap size. Easy to make larger with simple borders. You could also use any leftover for pillowcases, or table accents. As I say, the possibilities are endless!

Old Irish Patchwork Quilts

In my travels in search of interesting quilt articles I came across this one which give an over view of Irish quilting. At this point most of my travels are on the computer so I have included a link for you to click for more information. Traditionally, Irish patchwork quilts consisted of two layers, the top and the backing, quilted together with wave or chevron patterns. The very early patchwork quilts made in England, and those originally introduced in Ireland, also had wave or chevron patterns holding two layers together.
