Lauren Embury

Lauren embury hot cocoa table center

Lauren Embury made this awesome little table from a kit we have at the shop called Happy Holiday Cocoa Kit!
Lauren always likes to put her own twist on things and she really is upping her skills at the quilting of the quilt as you can see.

Well done Lauren and thank you so much for showing us how a simple project can look so amazing!

Lynda MacKenzie

lynda-mackkenzie-my-kinda-town

Lynda MacKenzie has spent the last many months making this jaw dropping quilt for her Insurance company she works at.

She used fabric that was new, old and in between to get just the perfect fabric. Each row is a different season, there are pets in the windows and the apple tree is from older fabric that was just perfect!

Amazing Lynda! I just love this quilt!

Maggie Pycock

maggie-pycock-how-to-construct-a-snowman

Maggie Pycock was in to show us her darling little wallhanging of how to construct a snowman. Her applique was just spot on!

Maggie spends a lot of time getting the colours just perfect and the end result shows that it is well worth the effort!

Thank you to Maggie for sharing with everyone and now if we ever get some snow we too can make a snowman!

Paulette Eccleston

paulette eccleston new twist on the bow tie quilt

Paulette Eccleston was in to long arm quilt her gorgeous Bow Tie Quilt this past week.

Paulette chose to use a computer pattern and it turned out gorgeous! I can't believe how many quilt tops this girl has! She always seems to be so good at taking an older traditional pattern and putting a modern spin on it so well. The colours and the layouts are very well done!

Thank you to Paulette for coming in to use our long arm and showing everyone your amazing work!

Update on Bill and the Long Arm

Bill with computer

Bill is healing well and will be off of the suction pump by the end of January and then the rehab starts. He also is off some of the medications so that should help with sleep and appetite.

We are slowly opening up the long arm program with a few times a week for customers to come in to long arm their own quilts. You will have to work as Bill can't be on his feet for too long of a time and we are so appreciative of your understanding. If you would like to come in to long arm your own quilt let us know and we can schedule you in. We are taking appointments for February forward.

In the meantime Lori Dewart is still quilting people's quilts so please keep bringing them in to be quilted.
We have a fast turnaround with loads of gorgeous edge to edge designs to choose from.

Patti Eckert

patti-eckert-2

Patti Eckert brought her quilt in for us to quilt using the P.S. I Love You Panto. It turned out just fabulous with the pattern showing very well.

Remember when choosing your fabrics, threads and panto designs how you want it all to balance. The fabrics in this quilt needed to show the light, medium and dark values. The panto design needed to be tight enough to lock all the seams, but loose enough to give the quilt some motion and cozy look. The thread was chosen by Lori Dewart [ who also was the long armer ] and Patti's husband. Top thread was Marine and bobbin was Hawaiian Blue.

Thank you to Patti for letting us long arm your quilt and be a part of the story!

Linda Bratten

linda-bratten

Linda Bratten of Armstrong, Missouri, is a mixed media artist who has a very good video out on a different way of doing your applique.
You will need to have some tear away stabilizer and you go from there. I can't wait to try this!
The pattern she is using is available through her site free and just use some scraps to learn a new technique. She makes it look so easy!
