Maggie Pycock

Maggie Pycock created this adorable little quilt from a line of fabrics we have called Dream Big. Her choice of quilt design was an all over star pattern.

Maggie chose to come in to quilt her own quilt with help from Bill and Leslie. She did a fabulous job of it and I just know that there is a little one and parents who are going to be over the moon thrilled!

Edge to edge design is Star Hearts and top thread is Glide Chiffon.

Doreen Frederick

Doreen Frederick is showing her awesome Dinosaur quilt she created for a very lucky youngster! She brought it in to be quilted and of course she brought her little sidekick who just has to be in the photo!

Fabrics in the quilt are by In the Beginning Fabrics and the richness of the colours and the balance of everything is perfect!

The quilt finishes at 72" x 92" so a beautiful twin size quilt. The top thread is Glide thread Prickly Pear and the edge to edge design is Dave's Dinosaurs. Long arm quilted by Leslie Ford.

Free Pattern

Art Gallery Fabrics has Some of the best free patterns out there and we chose this one to show. Called Floral Maze, my thinking was that it would be a great one for using your stashes. It does make into a bed size quilt. Finishes at 87" square and easy enough to make larger.
If you have never tried a Log Cabin quilt this might be a perfect start!

I am always interested in the history of quilting. I came across this article about the history of quilting during the Depression years and thought you might enjoy it as well.

This week we received a gorgeous Northern Lights fabric in the shop. At 58" wide this one could be the front of a quilt, the back or even curtains!

Love these rich jewel tones and can't wait to try a project with some of it.

Scissor Sharpening

Scissor Sharpening by Rick Walker of Wicked Edge

Rick will be coming in the second Wednesday of each month to sharpen your scissors and knives.

Have your items in to the shop by end of business on December 12th for them to be sharpened on the 13th.

Rick comes with 40 years of experience and does a great job! He will even sharpen pinking shears, grooming shears and more.

Bill is over to Salmon Arm each week to see his stepmom and will bring your machines over for Hector to service on the Wednesday.

Have your machines here by the end of business on Tuesday and you have your machine back on Thursday!
