Deb Arvay

Deb Arvay brought her gorgeous Christmas Memories quilt in to be long arm quilted. The quilt is a great lap size at 47" x 60" just perfect for curling up on a winter evening with some quilting Youtube videos on your iPad.

Deb chose the E2E design Merry Little Christmas with Glide thread Sand for the top. Leslie Ford did the long arm quilting on this one and did a stellar job of it! Thank you to Leslie!

Linda Andersen

Linda Andersen brought her beautiful calming lap quilt in for us to long arm for her. Linda loves the ocean and everything about the ocean. She finds the colours of the ocean and the seaside very appealing and loves the sense of calm. Her pattern is called Cobblestone and totally captures the mood of the ocean and sandy beaches.

Linda's quilt which finished at 66" x 75" was long arm quilted by Leslie Ford. The E2E design chosen is Clamshell Scallops and the top thread is Magic Mint.
Just makes you calmer reading about it!

Debbie Dobson

Debbie Dobson, Who absolutely loves the bright colours and strong contrast, absolutely nailed it with her fantastic Skull quilt. She Started with the Skull panel and then grew it out using a stained glass affect for maximum impact!
Debbie's quilt finished at 63" x 68" and was quilted by Leslie ford using the E2E design Bones with Glide thread Cool Grey 3.

Marilyn Loedel

Marilyn Loedel brought her beautiful Trip Around the World quilt in to be long arm quilted. You will see that on the quilt Marilyn has placed her tones very well for a perfect result. A vintage pattern with an updated look!

Marilyn chose the E2E pattern Baptist Waves with Glide thread Apricot Blush for the top. Lelsie Ford is the long arm artist on this one. Good grief....sounds like I am working this girl hard!!!

Lise McDevitt

Lise McDevitt was in to long arm quilt  this beauty of a quilt. I am not sure of the name of the quilt, but it is similar to a Trip Around the World pattern. Simple squares but by putting them on point you have a completely different look! Finishing at 58" x 80" this is a great size for a twin or a tall lap quilt.

Lise and Bill worked together on the quilt using the E2e design Dragon Wings with Glide thread Strawberry Blond. Beautiful!

Diane Nadeau

Diane Nadeau brought her beautiful Chain quilt in to be long arm quilted. I have known Diane since elementary  school in North Burnaby! Not sure how the stars aligned for us to meet up after all those years!
Diane created this beauty mostly on her own with some extra help from her sew group. Love the strong contrast!

Bill did the long arm quilting using the E2E design called Ginger Stars with Glide thread Dijon for the top.Quilt finished at 55" x 55".

Sewing Machine Maintenance

I have found an article by Leah Day on the maintenance of your sewing machine. I think it is very well written and goes into all sorts of issues that we will come across on our quilting journey.

Loved the part on how to clean it all out and oil the machine. If you want to always be able to just sit down and sew, you will want to have a read on this article and learn how to properly look after your baby. Click on the link for the article:

Free Pattern-Neighbourhood quilt

Robert Kaufman has a beginner rated quilt that would be very easy and quick to make up featuring the Turtle Cove fabric line. Quilt finishes at 47" x 57".
The pattern would lend itself well to showing off the prints and the deep richness of the colours. Goodness sake, I am twitching just thinking about this one!
