Meet Your Neighbour

010-3

This week I would like to introduce you to Ricardo Rodrigues, Sales Manager of Cador Textiles.

Ricardo was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. He is a city guy through and through! Ricardo's father started working for Cador in 1976 and by 2006 Cador was a family owned business.....the Rodrigues! How cool is that? A true Canadian success story!

Ricardo began working for the company in 2003 and worked his way up the ladder. He loves what he does ....traveling and meeting all sorts of different people. Ricardo is a very extroverted fellow and is just a ton of fun to have come around. This was his first time to our shop and said he had never had an experience like that before! We laughed until our stomachs hurt.

Ricardo is not a quilter or a sewer but sure knows his fabrics. Cador carries Wilmington Prints, Princess Mirah batiks, Tender Touch batting and more. We carry a fairly large inventory of their products and we love them!

Thank you to Ricardo for taking the time to come and see us and also to Ada Freisen for bringing him around to see the shops! I am thrilled to have met you and always fun to see Ada.

Laurie Hallock

  003-4

Laurie Hallock was in to long arm quilt her gorgeous flower quilt. Laurie is keeping this one  as she just loves the florals and all the garden colours!

Laurie had taken her course quite a while ago and was a bit concerned as to how well she would do. She was done in no time with no thread breaks and great stitching using Glide thread and a basic looping panto.

Great work Laurie and thank you for coming in for the day!

Heather Nymeyer

002-11

Heather Nymeyer was in to long arm quilt her awesome quilt done in Autumn tones. Her quilts tend to be large so she finds it so much faster and easier to come in to get the project finished. Don't you just love the leaf appliques?

Love your quilt Heather and it turned out gorgeous! Thank you for sharing.

Quilt Show April 27/28th, 2019

  quilt-show-2

Just getting the word out early for everyone. We are having our quilt show this year April 27/28th.

As always the quilt show will be right here in the Brock Shopping Center, in Kamloops, BC.

Our quilt show costs nothing to enter a quilt and everyone is welcome. If you can let us know how big your quilt is that is helpful for arrangement of the quilt racks.

We would love to see what you have been working on currently or in the past. The quilts shown are modern, antique, traditional and can be bed quilts, bags, clothing, runners and placemats or anything else that you have made from fabrics.

Entry to see the show is by donation to offset the costs and proceeds go to charity. I am cracking my whip, ladies, so you can get your quilts in!

lumber-pillow-violetta

I found a great pattern for making a lumbar support pillow using the Violetta line of fabrics.

If you don't have a pillow for in the right size consider making your own. You can also purchase a premade pillow and just cover it. Works great and is a little sturdier.
