Charlotte Wagner

Charlotte Wagner brought her quilt in for us to quilt for her. All made from her fabric stash, which I am now curious to know if it looks any different? I know in mine this wouldn't have made much of a dent!! LOL
Charlotte did a great job of her lights and darks to really make this quilt pop. She stayed focused and placed the blocks perfectly for optimum effect.
She brought her quilt in for Lori Dewart to quilt using the Bosa Nova edge to edge design with the computer. When you are long arming your quilt you want to pay attention to locking down as many seams as you can without it being too dense. This was the ideal design and with Glide thread everything worked out great!
Thank you to Charlotte for taking us along on your quilting journey!

Dona Kobyashi

Dona Kobyashi was in to take the class with Bill to learn to use the long arm and finish her quilts herself. Being that Dona is computer friendly there was no question she would be opting for the computer to do the work.
The edge to edge design she chose is adorable with hidden cat faces in the design. I just know some lucky little girl is going to love this one! Can't you just picture her hunting for the cat faces. We should have counted how many cat faces to find and then it could be a game of it. Why do we always think of these things after the fact?
Thank you to Dona for sharing your day with us and your awesome little girl quilt!

Kathy Mirtle

And another scrappy quilt to show. Kathy Mirtle did this one with a theme of houses. I have always been partial to house quilts for some unknown reason. This one really turned out awesome!
Kathy is still working from her stash and eventually one day she will get through it all. I think we should have a party to celebrate when that happens! Notice her balance of the darks, mediums and lights in the quilt.
A great finish to your quilt and we all appreciate so much you sharing with us all!

Leanne Harrison

Leanne Harrison was in to long arm quilt her cuddly little heart quilt for a very lucky little one! You just know when Leanne is in the building it will be a fun day!
Leann chose a simple design with Glide pink thread. This is a very girly quilt and I love it! The Glide thread is a polyester so no shrinkage and super easy for care as it will put up with constant washings with no breakage. We love the Glide thread and use it exclusively.
Thank you to Leanne for sharing your creativity and your day with us!

Sheila Gibb

Sheila Gibb was in to long arm her adorable little baby quilt. Her fabrics have Mickey Mouse on them and can you believe she found a edge to edge design to quilt her quilt that has the Mickey Mouse head outlines? How perfect is that?
Sheila was pretty darn excited to get this one quilted and ready to go to a very lucky little one. She kept her thread neutral to have the design of the quilt show. What a wonderful quilt to receive for a new baby!
Thank you to Sheila for sharing with everyone your talents!

Sue Pare

Sue Pare was in to long arm quilt her Hip to Be Square quilt she made using fabrics from her stash. All in batiks she made a gorgeous little lap quilt that she is probably going to be keeping for herself!
Sue had a fun day a the shop and with help from Bill and Lori she went home a very happy lady. The edge to edge design she chose using the computer is called Bauhaus, a modern design in keeping with the pattern of her quilt.
Sue is peeking out from behind the quilt and Lori Dewart is doing the Vanna White impression for the camera. Well done ladies!

Celebration Tree Skirt Class

We have a new class to announce coming this September 18, 19 and 20th. This class is taught by Anne Hall, a CI for Quiltworx so you know that you are getting topnotch instruction and help.
You will have opportunity to custom design your own tree skirt with your colour choices. Custom colourways if ordered at time of booking UP TO 18th August. You will get to see the colourway before the kit is cut so that you can tweak it. It would be helpful if you choose ONE focus fabric that you would like in your quilt from Heather’s store. Preferably batiks due to some skinny points, but they don’t have to be. You can also opt to make a smaller tree skirt as this one is quilt large, 60". Just let us know what you want and we will do our best to accommodate.
The cost of the class is $295 for all three days and includes the pattern with foundation papers. Times are 9:30 to 5 each day.
You can give us a call at 250-376-7630 or you can sign up on the website at http://www.fabricshelf.ca
