Leslie Heppner

Leslie Heppner was in to take the class to learn to use our long arm. Bill walked her through the learn all the ins and outs, next on to free motion, then pantograph and finally the computer. Guess which method she chose to do her quilt? Yep it was computer all the way!
Leslie was so cute with the long arm. The minute there was a break in the action she was out to check out the fabrics in the shop! She was loads of fun and just a real treat to have in for the day!
Thank you so much Leslie for sharing your day and your quilt journey with us all!

Susan Green

Susan Green was in to long arm quilt her gorgeous split log cabin quilt. Her choice in colours of black, whites, greys and pops of lime green and turquoise blues is fabulous!
Susan is in love with this one so I am not sure if this is going to live with her for a while or not. Some quilts just really want to be with the quilter and this may be one of them.
Susan chose the computer program for speed, choice in designs and the perfect finish. I have to say, that is what I would be inclined to choose as well.
Thank you to Susan for sharing with everyone!

Drina Latrace

Drina Latrace brought her quilt in for Bill to long arm for her. She wanted to stay and watch the process which was fine with Bill! We always enjoy having Drina in the shop!
This quilt is very scrappy which seems to be a very popular theme right now with a lot of quilters. I love the brick pattern done in all the different colours and scraps of fabrics. The white background just makes everything pop that little bit more!
Thank you so much Drina for sharing with everyone! You are amazing!

Joan Frazier/Melody Swanson

Joan Frazier and Melody Swanson were in to show off their fantastic quilt made all in a neutral tone of colours. The pattern is a Disappearing Nine Patch which when you look at, it is hard to believe it actually starts as a simple nine patch!
Just a great balance of the colours and tones on this one , ladies. Love it!
Thank you for sharing the quilt journey with us all!

Quilts for Fire Victims 2021

As I am sure you will have all heard about the devastating fires in our area. The entire town of Lytton is gone! This is just so unbelievable! My heart is breaking for the people of Lytton.
As a quilter this is our way of showing we care and want to reach out. Our shop and Katja's Quilt shop in Kamloops are drop off places for the quilts. With help from Marg Johnson and her crew we are collecting quilts to be distributed to all the fire victims.
I want to thank so many people and groups that have sent quilts from Ontario, Mayne Island, Fernie, Castlegar, Jaffray, Vancouver Island, the lower mainland and more. You are each and every one very special people and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Sometimes when it seems the darkest of times the brightest lights will shine.
You can drop your finished a quilt off at our shop or Katja's shop anytime during business hours. We will be collecting over the next several weeks. We thank you so much for your caring and generosity at this challenging time.
You can contact Marg at 250-372-3194 or myself at the shop 250-376-7630.

Celebration Tree Skirt Class

We have a new class to announce coming this September 18, 19 and 20th. This class is taught by Anne Hall, a CI for Quiltworx so you know that you are getting topnotch instruction and help.
You will have opportunity to custom design your own tree skirt with your colour choices. Custom colourways if ordered at time of booking UP TO 18th August. You will get to see the colourway before the kit is cut so that you can tweak it. It would be helpful if you choose ONE focus fabric that you would like in your quilt from Heather’s store. Preferably batiks due to some skinny points, but they don’t have to be. You can also opt to make a smaller tree skirt as this one is quilt large, 60". Just let us know what you want and we will do our best to accommodate.
The cost of the class is $295 for all three days and includes the pattern with foundation papers. Times are 9:30 to 5 each day.
You can give us a call at 250-376-7630 or you can sign up on the website at http://www.fabricshelf.ca

Heather is leaving the building.

I am out of town from Tomorrow July 17 until Monday July 26th.
I shall relax, if I can, sleep in, have a glass of wine and just generally regroup. It has been an exhausting 18 months and a bit of down time is needed.
Now there are a few rules while I am gone:
- There is no 75% off sale in the shop.
- Do not send Heather videos or photos of any new fabric arriving. It drives her nuts!
I will see you all in a weeks time, rested and a new woman!
***Photo is of Bill and I just because I liked it!*****
