Roxy Agar

Roxy Agar created this amazing quilt for her daughter. This is just a fantastic quilt to see! All the things that are special in this young woman's life are on the books.

Ballet, travel, music and more! We really enjoyed working on this one! Roxy, this is a truly remarkable quilt and I am sure that she is going to love it!

Leslie Ford is the long arm quilter on this one using the digital design called Mozart with Glide thread Coffee for the top.

Margaret Stewart Smith

Take a look at this amazing quilt that Margaret Stewart-Smith's granddaughter made! This is her very first quilt and she absolutely nailed it! The seams matched perfect and the colours were spot on! The pattern is one of the 3 Yard Quilt patterns that are so popular right now.

The long arm quilter on the quilt is Leslie Ford using the digital pattern Gingko Leaf and top thread is Glide Coffee.

Thank you so much Margaret for sharing and your granddaughter is a rock star at quilting already!

Christine Kenward

Christine Kenward brought her darling little quilt in to be long arm quilted. Starting with a Dr. Suess panel of the alphabet she added simple borders and let the fabric do the work for her. Can't you just see some lucky little one curled up on the couch with this one?

The quilt was quilted by Leslie using the digital design called Bubbles for a fun addition and Glide Turf thread for a great finish!

Mary Jane Reid

Mary Jane Reid was in last Saturday to long arm quilt her gorgeous lap quilt with help from our Leslie. The fabrics in this quilt are just the cutest ever and the balance of the tones and values is perfect!

A very interesting detail with this quilt is that the digital design chosen is called Bear Claws with the bear paws going one direction and then in the next row they go the opposite direction! A very clever detail to add to an already interesting quilt! Top thread chosen is Glide Sterling.

Cheryl Sebastion

Cheryl Sebastion brought in 3 quilts for us to long arm quilt for her. First up we have her gorgeous floral pink and lime green quilt with a Square in a Square design. The quilt is a good size lap quilt or almost a twin at 60" x 73". Very exacting piecing and a great use of the fabrics Cheryl!

Leslie used the digital design Bossa Nova  and Glide thread Key Lime for a fun and amazing finish!

This is the second of 3 quilts that Cheryl brought in for us to quilt. Cheryl excels at quilts with a bolder look and lean lines, with some of her red, black and white quilts some of the most amazing I have seen! This one is a twin size, 70" x 90", with square in a square and then put on point.

With lots of negative space to work with, the digital pattern Leslie used is Flirtacious and glide thread Cool Grey 3 for the top. The batting chosen for this one is a white so the fabrics stay clear and bright.

Here we have the 3rd of Cheryl's quilts she brought in to be quilted. I just love this one because I am very partial to quilts with a "chain" pattern. More grey in this one than the other, but I love love love this one! Finishing at 61" x 61" for a great wall size or lap. You could even use it as a topper on the bed.
Leslie used the digital pattern Flirtacious again and Glide thread Cool Grey 3 for a fabulous finish!

Cee-Cee Camille showed us a picture of one of her Star Quilts she is working on, and I wanted to share that with you. she works primarily with First Nations designs and is incredibly talented.

Scissor Sharpening

Scissor Sharpening by Wicked Edge

We have discovered a fellow in town, Rick Walker, a fully certified, scissor sharpener who will come and sharpen your scissors here at the shop.

Rick comes with 40 years of experience and does a great job! He will even sharpen pinking shears, grooming shears and more.
You can phone me at 250-376-7630 or  email me as well to let me know how many scissors are coming.

Cost is $10 a pair.

Sewing Machine Repair

‌

Hector and Tammy are back doing machine services so bring your machines in by end of day on Tuesday  and Bill will get them over to Hector for Wednesday. Your machine will be back the next day, unless there is further work to be done.
