Danielle Barnes created this stunning quilt to be sent to Saudi Arabia as a gift! Danielle is pretty darn proud of this one with the perfect selection of colour palette and spot on piecing!
The quilt was long armed by Leslie Ford and Bill using the E2E design Athena with a strong geometric look. Thread chosen is Glide Shell for the top.
Beautiful quilt Danielle and thank you so much for inspiring us all!

Diana Hewins was in to long arm quilt her incredible Rainbows and Black quilt. She worked with her daughter on this one, which makes it even more special. I loved the way the colours travelled up on the quilt.
The E2E design chosen is Bubbles with Glide thread Slate for the top. Leslie Ford was the assistant to Diana on the quilt.

Agnes Olson created this awesome Super Mario quilt for a very lucky young fellow. She kept her colours clear and bright with a great balance of light, medium and dark tones. This one turned out just fantastic and I know it will be much loved!
Bill did the long arm quilting using the E2E design called Starlet with Glide thread Aloe for the top. He kept the pattern looser for a cozier feel.

Monday Morning with Paulette

Every 2nd Monday morning, Paulettle Eccleston will be showing one of her scrap quilts with instructions for how to put the block together!!!
Tips and tricks, inspiration, trips down memory lane and of course there are bound to be some giggles in there.
The response to her first quilt was fantastic and so much appreciated.

Charles James - Couture Designer!
Born in 1906, Charles James was a brilliant designer, but a difficult and tormented personality who made fewer than 1000 garments over the course of a 50-year career.
James is best known for the intricately-cut, often asymmetrical ball gowns that he designed in the 1940s and 1950s, which sold at the time for about $1500, and can easily fetch 100 times that figure today.
This ball gown in shocking pink silk taffeta and pale pink silk satin features a fitted, boned bodice and a draped "polonaise" swag. The wide, floor-length skirt is shaped with four "clover leaf" lobes over a stiffened understructure composed of millinery wire, interfacing, and boning.

We have a Millie and a Lucey currently available. These come with or without the computer.
My opinion is that you want the computer. It is such a time saver and enables you to have a very professional finish!
The Millie is on a 12' frame and the Lucey is on a 10' frame.

Scissor Sharpening

Scissor Sharpening by Rick Walker of Wicked Edge
Rick will be coming in the second Wednesday of each month to sharpen your scissors and knives.
Have your items in to the shop by end of business on July 10th for them to be sharpened on the 11th.
Rick comes with 40 years of experience and does a great job! He will even sharpen pinking shears, grooming shears and more.
You can phone me at 250-376-7630 or email me as well to let me know how many scissors/knives are coming.
Cost is $10 a pair scissors

Sewing Machine Repair
|

Hector and Tammy will not be doing sewing machine repairs for the next two weeks due to the School machines needing servicing during the summer break.
Everything will resume back to the usual July 24th. Have your machines in by noon on July 23rd to get them back within a day or two.
