Hero of the Week

may-31-2018-002

The week's hero is Judy Service!

Judy lives out at Spences Bridge and is a very active member of her community.
Several times Judy has collaborated with us on a cause of some sort. From wildfires to floods she is always ready to help.

Recently she has joined Verna Miller in a project involving teaching sewing and quilting to the youth of her community. We always think of this as such a wonderful thing to do but the logistics of it all can be very overwhelming. Judy and Verna stepped up to the plate.....again.......with smiles and a "can do" attitude to tackle this latest challenge.

Thank you Judy for always being so willing to help in any way you can.
You truly set an example for the youth in your community, as well as the rest of us!

Our First Bus Tour Group!

  bus-trip-and-strips-003

Sunday afternoon was just so exciting! Bill found a group of 41 quilters while at Quilt Canada and sent them our way on Sunday afternoon! Not sure how appropriate that is....I sent off to Quilt Canada to demo long arm machines and he brought home 41 women!
They had come from as far as Ireland, California and more!

Coral and I were out in the parking lot, camera in hand, to direct them to our shop. we had a marvelous time visiting, chatting about the show and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

One of the ladies on the bus had this to say about the tour company:

"This group came together through the Celtic Quilt Tours and Kim Caskey. We come from all over, Tumbler Ridge, Las Vegas, California, Ontario, Edmonton and myself and Paula are from Ireland. Paula is my friend with the really long beautiful grey hair.

Kim does quilt tours to Ireland and Scotland with her co host Debbi."

Thank you to everyone who was part of this great adventure!

It's a Small, Small World

The ladies on the bus come into the shop all smiles and giggles and I hear one lady say :"Those are my quilts!" Turns out that the two quilts of Anne Hall we have on display were quilted by one of the ladies on the bus! Ardell was so surprised .... but so were we! What are the chances that could happen?
Ardell, you did a fabulous job on the long arm quilting of Anne Hall's two quilts!
