Hero of the week

jennifer-smith-quilts-for-grand-forks

Jennifer Smith is the Hero of the Week and I am sure you will all agree with me on this one!

Jennifer, from Kelowna, took the time to drive up to Vernon, meet Bill and load her car up with the boxes of quilts to go to Grand Forks and head out.

This is on her time, at her expense and out of the goodness of her heart. I know the quilt shop in Grand Forks is going to be just thrilled with all the quilts you all have brought in and to have Jennifer deliver them was the icing on the cake!

Thank you so much, Jennifer! I am so proud to say you are one of us and count you as a friend. Truly a hero!

Wendy Lebek

  june-004

Wendy Lebek was in to get her certification on the APQS long arm machine. Wendy is a bit of a new quilter so this was a stretch....she nailed it!
Love the quilt she brought in as there are lots of reference lines she can use to keep the quilt square. Of course the colours are some of my favourites too!
Wendy you did a great job and thank you for sharing the day with us!

Heather Griffiths

june-002

Heather Griffiths was in as well, to get her APQS certification. She did an amazing job on her quilt with great results using Glide thread and having Bill by her side.

Heather's friend Shirley Huculak is the instigator on this.....she has got Heather good and truly hooked on quilting!

I loved the choice in colours Heather used on her quilt and the balance of the darks and light was just perfect!

Thank you Heather for a great day of quilting, chatting and fun!

Kat Grigg

  june-005

Kat Grigg was in to show us her latest creation....a bath mat!

She had this great fabric for the center and had to come up with an idea to use it without cutting it all up.

Simple borders and quilting....and Bob's your uncle, she has a new bath mat!

Thanks Kat for a great idea to use some of our theme fabric that we just had to have, and so far have only used for petting....LOL

Holiday Wishes

holiday-wishes_quilt-1_pattern_09062017_cover

"Holiday Wishes" by Henry Glass will be in the building next week!
Don't you just love the fabrics in this one? The greys, reds and creamy whites are so pretty. The theme is heartwarming with old trucks, barns and a traditional Christmas feel.

These fabrics are sure to go fast so keep checking the website for updates. I would suggest Tuesday to Wednesday we will hopefully have them up on website and on display. We will be kitting this one as well.

If you would like to see the pattern, click the button for the free download!

Off the Grid

  merle-cochrane-and-wide-back-fabric-007

We just have this amazing wide back fabric in the door today!

By P&B Textiles this gorgeous digitally printed fabric is meant to go on the back of your quilt. I personally think you could use it on the front. It is just too pretty to put on the back.

The invoice stated it was 108" wide but it is actually 115" wide which is even better! You can find it in the shop or online!

Merle Cochrane

merle-cochrane-and-wide-back-fabric-003

Merle was in this last week to learn to use the long arm machine. We really enjoyed having her in for the day and am sure to see her often to finish those quilts. She already has herself booked in for the next opening!

Her project was on that was an online mystery quilt which she did up for her husband, Jim. Her fabrics were just spot on, with the values rally working!

Thank you so much Merle for spending the day with us and coming to use our long arm.

Gina Barrett

  gina-barrett-001

Gina Barrett was in to learn to use our APQS long arm machine this week.

This is the quilt she chose to quilt for the first time and we loved it! She used Glide thread and the Bumpity pattern.

Thank you Gina for coming in for the day and sharing with us all your lovely quilt!

Rockport Tote

  gina-barrett-010

Don't you just love this tote bag? We had a customer in today with the bag made and I just had to take a photo and post it for everyone!

Donna Schneider is the lovely lady who let us take a picture of her project and share it with everyone. Thank you Donna!

She used a panel to achieve the boutique look with gorgeous colours.
We have the pattern available in store and online!

We Now Carry Arrow Sewing Tables!

tasmanian-height-adjustable-table2-535x535

Our Tasmanian table is a 2 for 1 unit!  The Tasmanian Height Adjustable table is not only a great sewing table, but it also transforms itself into a perfect height cutting table!  No need to buy 2 separate units when you have one complete unit that can do both.  With the turn of the manual crank the tables rises and lowers from 28-1/2″ tall to a whopping 38″ tall!

The wide table top surface is 63″ wide x 35-1/2″ deep allowing you to spread a large project out or place a cutting mat on top for all your rotary cutting.

The sewing machine platform is also height adjustable allowing you to adjust the height based on your sewing machine’s measurements. The platform will move from a flatbed position to a freearm position for sewing your cuffs and sleeves or attaching your embroidery unit on to your machine. A custom machine insert  can be purchased separately to provide a flush sewing surface around your machine.

Check out the different models we carry online!
