Debbie Young

Debbie Young was in this week to long arm quilt 3....count them 3 queens size quilts.! She did amazing on the computer with help from Lori Dewart on the first day and Bill on the next day and a half. So a total of 2 and a half days to get 3 large quilts quilted. Not too shabby!
First up we have her gorgeous Reproduction fabrics quilt called Secrets and Shadows. The quilt was based on the stories of women spies during the war years. So happy for Deb that she got hers done. Mine is so so close.

Deb Young Quilt #2

Deb Young's second quilt is a gorgeous Bargello quilt from Eileen Wright done in jewel tones. This one is all in batik fabrics with a fabulous range of colours and tones to make the Bargello work.
I love the colours in this one and Deb's ability to work the values from light to dark are just amazing! Well done!

Deb Young quilt #3

The third quilt all in rich chocolate browns and teals is reminiscent of Southwestern themed projects. The colours and the geometric layout are what make me think of the southwest.
This one again is done all in batiks for the depth and richness of colours you can always rely on from batiks.
I want to thank Deb so much for coming in and spending her days with us. You got so much done, we had some fun and all told was just super! Sometimes I think the visiting that takes place in our shop is just as important as anything else. Certainly the most fun!

Julie Biller

Julie Biller brought her quilt in for us to quilt for her. The fabrics used are called Backsplash Digital by Hoffman. They are absolutely perfect for this quilt! Pattern is designed by Susan Claire. Her website is https://www.gourmetquilter.com/
Lori Dewart did the edge quilting using the computer for perfect results. I have to wonder....why didn't I get the computer right from the start? So much easier and so many designs to choose from.
Are you wanting to get some of your projects quilted? We are at a week to a week and half turnaround. To get an estimate of what your quilt will cost to be quilted : length x width x .03cents. You can just bring your quilt in with batting and backing 4" larger around or send an email to me at info@fabricshelf.ca

Kathy Elliott

Kathy Elliott was in to long arm quilt her gorgeous humongous quilt with pattern "Journey to he Stars" by Cotton Treasure Design. Kathy chose to use the computer for faster and more accurate results.
Kathy worked from her stash but says her stash is still a ridiculous size! I understand this feeling well. Le sigh.... With help from Bill she had the quilt done in a gorgeous star swirl edge to edge design and it is awesome!
Thank you to Kathy for sharing all your talents and creativity with us!

Maureen Connolly

Maureen Connolly was in to long arm quilt her very own Cowboy quilt. She is making if for a special someone and had some fun when it came time to long arm quilt this one!
Isn't this cowboy just a handsome fellow in his jeans and western shirt and causally leaning on a fence? I am not sure if you would want him on your couch or hanging on the wall to greet you every time you came into the room! Either way I think he will be a keeper!
Thank you to Maureen for sharing your handsome fellow with us all!

Sue Pare

Sue Pare brought her awesome Cosmic quilt in for us to quilt for her. This one is a panel with lovely rich colours from Jason Yenter at In the Beginning Fabrics.
This one is going to her granddaughter but she is so in love with it she may find it hard to part with! I am sure her granddaughter will absolutely love it! Amazing how you can very quickly take a panel and quilt it for a spectacular finish!
Thank you to Sue for sharing with us all!

Laura Ward

Laura Ward brought her gorgeous quilt in for us to quilt for her. The pattern is called "Crosswalk" by Missouri Star Quilt Co. This one is an easy one to do up in any variation of colours or themes. I can see this one as a kids quilt or adult!
Laura chose a line of fabrics called Soda Pop and used a very controlled palette. It worked extremely well and again I am so tempted to get started on one for me. No Heather.....say no!!!!!!
Thank you so much Laura for bringing your quilt in for us to quilt and for sharing it with everyone!

Celebration Tree Skirt Class

We have a new class to announce coming this September 18, 19 and 20th. This class is taught by Anne Hall, a CI for Quiltworx so you know that you are getting topnotch instruction and help.
You will have opportunity to custom design your own tree skirt with your colour choices.
Custom colourways if ordered at time of booking UP TO 18th August. You will get to see the colourway before the kit is cut so that you can tweek it. It would be helpful if you choose ONE focus fabric that you would like in your quilt from Heather’s store. Preferably batiks due to some skinny points, but they don’t have to be. You can also opt to make a smaller tree skirt as this one is quilt large, 60". Just let us know what you want and we will do our best to accomodate.
The cost of the class is $295 for all three days and includes the pattern with foundation papers. Times are 9:30 to 5 each day.
You can give us a call at 250-376-7630 or you can sign up on the website at http://www.fabricshelf.ca
