Thank you so much to the CanGo Grannies organizations for showing their quilt in our shop for 2 days this past week! We were so honoured to be asked and learned so much about the organization and what they do.

A huge thank you also goes out to everyone who came out to see the quilt and offer support.

Diana Hewins

fyirefly-quilt ‌

Diana Hewins was in to long arm quilt this incredible quilt in support of her daughters' organization she works for.
The children of the organization created the quilt blocks and Diana had the fun of assembling and quilting!

Here is a short write up that daughter Kelli has done for you:

"Camp fYrefly is a leadership retreat for queer and trans youth ages 14 - 24 that is held annually in four locations across Canada. In a fun and social environment, campers develop skills that will positively impact their lives, homes, schools, and communities. Art and creativity are a big part of Camp! Along with the expert and caring help of Diana H. and her friends at Heather's Fabric Shelf in Kamloops, participants were able to contribute to this joyful quilt. We hope it will bring hope and comfort to future campers, and serve as a reminder of the strength of this vibrant community."

Annette Nicholson

This quilt is a pretty special quilt!
With a title like Tender Heart what else would we expect?

Annette created the quilt with a bit of a scrappy theme and then brought it in for us to quilt for her.
Using Pink Lemonade thread by Glide and Digital design PS I Love You the results were just amazing! Leslie Ford really brought this quilt to life with the quilting!

See photo below for a closeup of the quilting.

Thank you to Annette for sharing with us all!

Leslie Ford did the long arm quilting on this one using the digital design called Elizabeth for a soft swirly floral look. Thread chosen was Glide Baby Blue.
