Tanya brought her gorgeous Hunters Star quilt in to be longarmed. Her blend of colours and fabrics is just beautiful! A crisp clean look but not boring. Love the tones of the reds and greens with some orange, of all things. But it works!
Leslie Ford is the longarmer on this one using digital design Feathers with a Twist and Glide thread pink Rose for the top.
Thank you to Tanya for sharing your incredible quilt with us all!

Jeannie Vanderwal brought her lovely little lap quilt in for us to longarm for her. This one is called Dear Diary with lots of Tilda Fabrics. I love the vintage floral look. The warm faded colours of pinks and blues, creams and tans are all so lovely! You could just look at this one hours and see more and more.
The quilt was long armed by Leslie Ford using the digital design Busy Bees with Glide thread Peacock for the top. What a lovely quilt!
Thank you to Jeannie for sharing with us all!

Gayle Makeiff's quilt Tulip Garden is very essence of show stopper! Gayle started the quilt a few years ago, found it lurking and then had to add more fabrics. It is huge!!!! Finishing at 73" x 116" with perfect mitered corners!!! Gayle is a bit of a keener on that! LOL
Quilt was longarmed by Leslie Ford with digital design Belladonna and Glide thread Prickly Pear for the top.

Kathy Elliott

Kathy Elliott came in to longarm quilt her jaw dropping Circle of Life quilt. The pattern is by Jacqueline de Jonge and was taught by Certified Instructor Anne Hall in a workshop here at the Shelf.
Kathy marched a bit to her own drum by choosing a light background as opposed to the black. The colours just popped right up and the gradation of the tones going around is perfect! Love love love this quilt!
Kathy chose a digital design called Seamless and used Affinity, a variegated Glide thread, in Rainbow. With all the negative space there was lots of opportunity to show the quilting and the thread off!
Thank you to Kathy for sharing your spectacular project!

Elizabeth Biagioni

Elizabeth Biagioni brought her amazing quilt all in neutrals in for us to longarm for her. This is a fairly simple pattern with it being almost like a Log Cabin. Instead of the chimney in the center of the block it is in one corner. Neutral colours are super popular right now and this was a great pattern to use them in.
Leslie Ford did the longarming using a digital design called DTQ, which I have no idea actually stands for but looks good. Thread chosen is Glide Warm Grey 6.
Note**** The quilt is actually upside down but by the time we got it up on the frame no one had the energy to take it down and turn it around, so please bear with us as it still is amazing and creates a whole different look!*****
Thank you to Elizabeth for sharing with us all!

Gillian Saunders

Gillian Saunders brought in her gorgeous Dragon quilt. Gillian loves the bright colours and dragons are one of her favourite themes. She chose a simple pattern and let the fabric speak for itself. We use this pattern often in the shop when doing kits with a panel as it is so easy to do, isn't too fabric hungry and always turns out. The pattern is by Villa Rosa and is called Hillside Charm.
The digital pattern chosen is Breath of the Gods with Glide thread Affinity Rainbow for the top. Leslie Ford was the longarmer on this one. Quilt finishes at 60" x 75".
Thank you to Gillian for sharing! Love your enthusiasm....it is contagious!

New First Nations Fabrics

Of course this week we received an order of fabrics, because can you imagine a week with no new fabric? Good lord I would be in a complete tizzy!
This time it is fabric from Siltex and a gorgeous batik called Celestial Batik. Rich tones with owls, cedar needles ( do Cedars have needles? or are they called leaves? Maybe fronds?) as well as hummingbirds.
You can check them out in the shop or find them on line at https://www.fabricshelf.ca/shop/c/p/CELESTIAL-BATIK-CEDAR---RED-x68381648.htm

Marion Jackson brought her lovely wall hanging Polar Journey in to be longarmed. The jewel tones are always a winner in a wall hanging! The design of the panel is by Josephine Wall who also does designs for cross stitch.
Leslie Ford is the longarmer on this one with great results using digital design First Snowfall and Glide thread Light Grey.
Thank you to Marion for showing us your talents on this gorgeous quilt!

LaRae Johnson

LaRae Johnson brought several of her latest creations all made from scraps in to show us. I have decided to tease you a bit with only showing one a week so there is room for all the other newsy items for you.
LaRae created this gorgeous lap size quilt in bright spring colours with an amazing design. The yellows and blues are so warm!
LaRae did her own quilting of the quilt and did a fabulous job of it.
Thank you so much LaRae for sharing your quilt with us all!

Sharon Clark

Sharon Clark brought her adorable little child quilt in for us to longarm for her. The center of the blocks is what really appealed to me with the zebras. I do believe this is from Tula Pink. Again a simple pattern but so effective with the layout and the colours. Sharon did a great job of making a very delightful quilt with everything working well together.
Leslie Ford is the longarmer on the quilt with digital design Seamless and Glide thread White for the top of the quilt.
Thank you to Sharon for sharing your quilt. Such a cheerful and lovely little quilt!
