Meet Your Neighbour
This week meet Shannamay Beecroft, sewer, quilter and all around lover of the arts and crafts.
Shannamay was born in Lethbridge, Alberta but has spent most of her life in Kamloops. She actually went to school with our very own Coral Deschenes. Since Shannamay was in her 20's she has been sewing and loving it! An avid garment sewer she moved over to quilting in the last several years.
Her very first quilt she pieced, quilted and bound all by hand. Shannamay then evolved to piecing by machine but still quilting by hand. Now she pieces by machine and comes in to long arm on our Millie APQS long arm machine.
Shannamay's favourite part of the whole quilting process is the choosing the fabrics and the pattern. i understand that completely! Sort of how I ended up with a shop! LOL

Diana Hewins
Diana Hewins was in to long arm quilt her gorgeous Kaffe Fassett quilt she created using her scraps. Well, some of her scraps. This picture doesn't really do the quilt justice as the colours are just stunning! Each of the blocks is surrounded by a different black and white print which really makes everything pop!

Batting Sale
Hobbs 80/20 rolls at 27.4 meters x 96" wide per roll. Price is $249.99 per roll plus tax. You can put half down [$125.00] now and the rest due by the 15th of March.
Bill will be going to pick up the batting at the end of March/beginning of April depending on road conditions. You will need to pick up at the shop but we can hold for a reasonable amount of time. Just let us know.
Anyone wanting to share a roll please let us know and we can put you on the list. You can cut the batting at our shop,by appointment, or at your own space.

Fire Island Hosta Class
We have had so many requests for this class we have decided to host this class in August of 2019.
The class is over 5 days from August 10 -14th. Teacher is our very own Anne Hall who comes with a wealth of knowledge in paper piecing.
You have a choice of either a 74" x 74" or a queen size 100" x 100". We will be kitting both sizes in the colours shown. Price to follow when we have firm numbers.
Cost of the class is $375 for all 5 days plus supplies.

Quilt Show April 27/28th, 2019
Just getting the word out early for everyone. We are having our quilt show this year April 27/28th.
As always the quilt show will be right here in the Brock Shopping Center, in Kamloops, BC.
Our quilt show costs nothing to enter a quilt and everyone is welcome. If you can let us know how big your quilt is that is helpful for arrangement of the quilt racks.
We would love to see what you have been working on currently or in the past.The quilts shown are modern, antique, traditional and can be bed quilts, bags, clothing, runners and placemats or anything else that you have made from fabrics.
Entry to see the show is by donation to offset the costs and proceeds go to charity. I am cracking my whip, ladies, so you can get your quilts in!

Here we have Marg Kinney with her second project to show us. S'more Snowmen was a class I taught earlier this year using the Happy Hollow technique of piecing. This is just so cute! I loved her choice of colours in the charcoals, blacks, taupes and creams.

Kathy Elliott
Kathy Elliott was in to long arm quilt this gorgeous quilt she pieced. Kathy likes to work from her own stash as much as possible and always seems to pull off a great looking project.
The name of the quilt pattern is On Point Nine Patch. Kathy made the quilt as a raffle quilt to support Girl Guides.You will have to go to Nova Scotia to get a ticket. Unless her sister will send her some. Let's all cross our fingers.
