April Lamont and the Ball Gown!

aPRIL AND GRANDDAUGHTER PARTY DRESS

April Lamont made this gorgeous ball gown for her 4 year old grand daughter who is going to a ball with her Dad.

The underskirt is made from tulle to give the fluffiness and has sparkles. April found the batik overskirt in our shop and added some sparkles to really make it amazing! The top is from a satin fabric which she did find a bit challenging putting the zipper in as it kept sliding around. April ended up sewing an invisible zipper in and it is perfect!

What a very lucky little girl! Just imagine what the shoes will look like!

Thank you to April for sharing with everyone!

Beth and the heart!

  beth little hexies

Our very own Beth Scott has pieced this amazing little heart project! The piecing is perfect and the colour choices are spot on!

Beth used a single fold binding to have a very narrow binding and no bulk whatsoever. Her stitching is just jaw dropping!

Thank you to Beth for showing us and encouraging us to get to the next level of quilting.

Beth Scott goes even smaller!

  beth mini hexies

Beth Scott showed us her even smaller Hexagon project! She loves the more intricate work with precise piecing skills.

Each Hexagon is hand pieced in place to create this masterpiece! I can't even imagine the hours put into this one.

Thank you to Beth for inspiring us all!

Kathleen Alcock

Kathleen alcock sailboats

This has to be one of my all time favourite quilts Kathleen has brought in. I love the sailboats in vintage fabrics and the stitching is just stunning!

Kathleen free motion quilted this beauty of a quilt and it turned out awesome! The quilt would suit boys or girls or even adults with a love for sailing.

Kathleen has promised to let me know the pattern name and I will pass it on as soon as I know.

Thank you to Kathleen for showing us your gorgeous quilt and spending the morning with us!

Beginner Sampler Class

  beginner quilt jan 2020

We are offering a Beginner class with Sampler blocks. The beauty of doing a sampler quilt is that you learn several different techniques and skills.

The project finishes at 54" x 54" but you have opportunity to make yours larger if you wish. The photo shows it as a flimsy as I finished piecing literally 10 minutes ago. It will be quilted next week, binding on and then it will be even more gorgeous!

Cost of the class is $100 with yours truly, Heather Fagervik, as your instructor. The Wednesday class is full but we still have 2 spots left on  Saturdays beginning on April 4th. These are 4 class programs and guaranteed to be a fun way to introduce you to this wonderful hobby. All product purchased for the class are 20% off.

Check it all out on line at http://www.fabricshelf.ca

Quilt Show 2020

  sad-face

We are incredibly sad to announce that there is no Quilt Show this year. This is the first time in 11 years that we have had to cancel and please be assured that it was not an easy decision to come to.

We have some family issues happening right now and we have to put that as the priority. I have had my cry, my vent and my Cheezie puffs and wine but it is what it is. Life hands you lemons and you make lemonade. Just wait until you see what is coming for next years show!

Thank you to everyone for your understanding.......but if you are still wanting a quilt show to go to check out the Salmon Arm one listed below!
