Challenging Times

tahsis-ladies

Unless you live under a rock I am sure that this last week has been challenging for everyone.

I had been on retreat out to Tahsis on the West coast of Vancouver Island and to say that it was shocking as we drove out would definitely be an understatement!

I do want to take this opportunity to thank the ladies of Tahsis [ above photo] for hosting this event with incredible food, fun sewing times and the warmest welcome you can imagine. Thank you to Anne Hall for inviting me for a wonderful break from reality......but I am back in reality big time now!

Your safety and well being are our first priority and take it very seriously. With much discussion with Bill, other shop owners and staff we have decided to remain open for the time being. The staff has gone home so it will be mostly just Bill and I in the shop.

We have implemented many stringent procedures for yours and our safety in the shop. Everything is wiped down multiple times a day.
Classes are cancelled for the time being.
Boxes of kleenex and cleaners are the new displays in the shop....along with some new samples of quilts up as we actually have time to get them done!

On the brighter side, this crisis does give us all a chance to get some of our projects done that have been lurking in bins and closets.
Our shop is still open for quilting your quilts, so bring them in and let us finish them up.

As of next week Bill is offering to do delivery of your purchases in town at no cost. When you see the Smart Car toddling around town with a bald man and his beloved Daschunds and Tiny [our rescue sweetheart dog] that is my husband out and about delivering your purchases.

We will continue to post products in the shop on Facebook, with online sales available as well as phone order.

At this time I want to remind you all to support your local small business as this is an unprecedented stressful time for everyone.
Thank you for reading to this rather long article and if you have any questions please call us at 250-376-7630 as I will be here holding down the fort and madly sewing all my half done projects.

Elaine Stefura

  Elaine Stefura

Elaine Stefura was in to long arm quilt her gorgeous quilt in Asian themed fabrics. The blending of the fabrics was perfect and she did an awesome job on the long arming.

We did endeavour to keep the distance from her to us and the machine was wiped down top to bottom before and after the quilt was done.

Elaine, you did amazing on your project and I know that many of the readers will be inspired!
