Hero of the Week: Brandi Allen

  feb-2018-015

Brandi is the Assistant Executive Director at the Seniors Center across from our shop. Brandi is a lovely young woman with loads of skills and caring for all spectrum of our community.

This week we were to host a couple of classes by Anne Hall. I had readied an empty space for the class right beside the Drug Store. The morning of the class Anne and I arrived to fire trucks and all sorts of excitement happening.....right outside the room we were to use! Turns out there was a small fire in the ceiling and all was put right by the afternoon. However the smoke smell was strong and we were not able to use the room.....now what do we do?

Brandi came through with a smile on her face and pulled it all together for us to have the class in their space. If that isn't a hero what on earth is?

Brandi thank you so much for helping us out in the situation! You are amazing!

The annual quilt show is an opportunity to show what you have done, see what others have done, to inspire others and to be inspired. i hope all of you will have a chance to be a part of a great event held right here in the Brock Center.

No entry fee, no judging .....just fun!

  feb-2018-006

When everything went sideways the other day with the class not being able to be held in the original spot we set up in the shop. There were ladies everywhere! Anne should have been wearing roller blades.....she was moving between everyone at lightening speed and did a great job of keeping everyone on track.

I want to thank all the ladies and Anne for their patience and understanding. You are all just the best! Smiles on all the faces and adapting with the changes at a moments notice. Thank you all so much.

A common thread of our friendship has always been sewing. This week she was in to the shop to visit with us and pet her new APQS long arm machine. It felt like we were 22 years old again and visiting and giggling.

Thank you to Linda for coming and having your day with us. You are one in a million!
