Designed for quilters who do not currently own a longarm machine or current owners who are looking to upgrade, the 3 hour FREE seminar includes valuable information about owning your first longarm.

• Discover resources for templates, batting, freehand instruction manuals, wholesale contacts, thread, etc.
• Find out where to buy pantograph patterns, books and stencils to make your longarm quilting fun and hassle-free.
• Learn business philosophies, products and services, pricing, marketing, and income forecasting. (You’ll even get a Sample Business Plan.)
• Explore the differences between each APQS machine model and adding computerized quilting to a new or previous APQS machine.
• Learn which accessories are the “gotta haves” to make your quilting fast and easy.
• Learn how to oil, clean and service your machine to provide years of quilting fun.

On the day of the Road Show, please plan to attend the full duration of the event. Most shows take about three hours, and throughout the course of the event we cover a lot of important information. This allows all attendees to have a shared understanding of the machines when it comes time for that all-important test drive.

Come and meet Mark and Christian from APQS and of course our very own quilter Bill will be in attendance. A bit of a swag bag, snacks to keep you fed and watered and lots of information

Gloria Barlow

Gloria Barlow brought a few of her amazing quilts in for us to longarm for her. First up we have one of the cutest baby quilts ever!

Bright colours and big happy fish and lots of bubbles....you just know this is going to be a much loved quilt!

The quilt was long armed by Bill using an edge to edge design called Bubbles with Glide thread Cloud for the top.

Gloria Barlow

Here is the second of Gloria Barlow's gorgeous quilts. This one is called Pinwheel Stars in red, whites and blues. Gloria did a great job of lining everything up and working with a limited palette. Just so lovely!

The edge to edge design chosen is Wave on Wave with Glide thread Warm Grey 4 for the top of the quilt.

Devona Hay

Devona Hay is the very excited winner of the $50 GC for the month of April.

Ronnie Pellizzon

Ronnie Pellizzon brought her amazing book quilt in for us to long arm for her. Ronnie is one of the most creative and confident quilters I have seen. She is so good at taking fabrics and making them all behave so well together.
She loves to experiment and learn new techniques as well. Next week I hope to have a new technique from Ronnie to share with you all. That she learned in Paris!!!!!!

Leslie Ford is the long arm quilter on this one using the edge to edge design called Bubbles and Warm Grey 4 Glide thread for the top.

Brenda Bliss

Brenda Bliss brought her gorgeous Fractured Falcon wall quilt. I think you could use this one as a lap quilt as well if you wanted. This was a kit that we had in stock and is one of the  most popular kits we have had recently. Neutral tones and stunning pattern....what's not to love?

Brenda Bliss is the long arm quilter on this one with help from Leslie Ford using edge to edge design called Funky Feathers and Glide thread Warm Grey 4 for the top.

Brenda Bliss

Here we have Brenda Bliss with her second quilt Fantasy. Rich blues, purples with dragonflies swirling about, this is a masterpiece! Batiks by Tonga Batiks were used with loads of piecing and interesting blocks.

Brenda quilted the quilt with help from Bill using the edge to edge design called Dragon Wings with Glide thread Mulberry for a spectacular finish!

Heather Mewhort

Is this not one of the cutest baby quilts ever? All out of so soft flannels and mom and baby elephant trotting along with sunshine hearts, you just know this is going to be a family heirloom to treasure forever!

Heather Mewhort did a fabulous job on the piecing of the quilt with Bill doing the long arming.

The edge to edge quilt design chosen is Dear Heart with Glide thread Bright Yellow for the top thread. You look at this quilt and just want to smile.

Laundry Basket Stars

Take a peek at this beautiful quilt called Laundry Basket Stars made by Evah Blinkhorn. All from Edyta Sitar's gorgeous blue fabrics that remind me of faded denim, this quilt is a stunner!

Evah created the quilt with perfect piecing and a beautiful balance of her tones of blue. She then brought it in for us to long arm quilt for her.
Leslie Ford is the master long arm quilter on this one, using an edge to edge design called Fast Feathers and Glide thread Steel Blue for the top. As a side note....the design called Fast Feathers is not necessarily fast. .....Just saying......

Wide Backings

Lots of new wide backs in the shop and are they ever incredible! We have flannels, Tim Holtz vintage and more! All the wide backs are 108" wide.

The flannel can shrink quite a bit so I recommend you purchasing .5 meter extra to be safe. We always cut extra with no charge to you anyway but flannel wide backs can be a nasty surprise sometimes.

The one shown is a Tim Holtz vintage wide back called Receipt. It is 108" wide and priced at $38.99 so a queen quilt will be approximately $100.

Scissor Sharpening

Scissor Sharpening by Wicked Edge

We have discovered a fellow in town, Rick Walker, a fully certified, scissor sharpener who will come and sharpen your scissors here at the shop.

Rick comes with 40 years of experience and does a great job! He will even sharpen pinking shears, grooming shears and more.
You can phone me at 250-376-7630 or  email me as well to let me know how many scissors are coming.

Cost is $10 a pair.

Just a side note from us:  He sharpened our batting scissors and did amazing! They are like brand new scissors!

I came across this super easy and useful little caddy to use in your travel trailer or your home. Finishing at 20" x 27" it could easily hang on your door or wall.

Use up some of that gorgeous fabric you have in your stash that you just had to have and now need a project. I plan to use it for my sewing room. Now to decide on the fabrics.....hmmmmmm

Sewing Machine Repair

Tammy and Hector Symes are back servicing in machines. Have your machines here by end of day  each Tuesday for fast turnaround and excellent service on your machine!

Bill will bring your machine over to Salmon Arm at no additional cost as he is over every week to see his step mom who is in care.
If the stars align you would get your machine back the next day, or at the latest the following week.

Once we start to get enough machines in, Hector and Tammy will come to Kamloops to do the machine servicing on site that day! Wouldn't that be fantastic?
