Diana Hewins

Diana Hewins was in to use the long arm and get these 2 beauties done and ready for binding. She chose to do one with the computer and did the other with her following a pantograph.

By using the computer she was able to achieve those perfect results with no stress on her body. By using the pantograph she was able to retain her skills with following the pantograph design with a laser light.

Both quilts just turned out awesome and she was one very happy lady!

Joyce Tomm

Joyce Tomm was in to show us her finished Dragon quilt.

Joyce found the panel and fabrics at our shop last year and had a special someone to make it for. Now it was just a matter of her designing and piecing her masterpiece!

I had asked her to bring it in to show us the finished project as it is just amazing!

An incredible quilt, Joyce and I just know that the receiver of this one is going to be thrilled!

Shirley Hucaluk

Shirley Hucaluk was in to long arm quilt her awesome Tumbling Blocks quilt she created with the letter M in the center.

This one is going to a grandson and I think Shirley did an amazing job of choosing fabrics and design for  a teenage boy. They can be so difficult to find something in colour and design they would actually like.

Shirley used the computer with help from Lori Dewart on this one for perfect results!

Thank you to Shirley for giving us all some great ideas for a quilt not so commonly seen! Well done!

Shirley Hucaluk

Shirley Hucaluk also long arm quilted her gorgeous quilt she made using Jinny Beyer fabrics in jewel tones. Shirley used the computer with help from Lori Dewart for these perfect results.

The front of this quilt is so beautiful with those deep rich colours. RJR fabrics by Jinny Beyer are some of favourites with such vibrancy and depth to the tones.

If you think the front of this quilt is incredible check out the photo below for what she did with the backing! When it was all done our jaws pretty much hit the floor! Shirley says she is keeping this one even though I suggested that I have a birthday in August. ....LOL

Thank you to Shirley for inspiring us how to change up our backing to make it a statement all by itself!

Leigh Beech

Leigh Beech was in to use our long arm to quilt her gorgeous bed size quilt. Don't you just love those colours?

Beautiful work on making the pinks and greys all work together with a titch of cranberry in there for drama! Well done Leigh!

Leigh chose a simple pattern and plush backing. With help from Lori Dewart and the computer doing the grunt work she has a gorgeous finish!

Sewing Machine Repair

Hector and Tammy will be here on Friday May 21st  as opposed to the Wednesday. You will still get your machines back on the following Wednesday.

We have openings for machines to be serviced. Don't forget that Hector and Tammy service sergers as well.

You can drop your machine off any time at the shop before Friday May 21st at noon for them to pick up.

Workshop at the Shelf!

This is just so over the top exciting!

For the first time since the whole Covid put our world on end last spring we are looking at having a workshop June 4,5,6 and 7th.

Prism Table Runner (22” x 65”)
A new design from Quiltworx, you will learn foundation paper strip piecing techniques for lone star diamonds and also striped borders along with the use of cutting templates, smart corners, and TRP lines.

Two day Prism Table Runner class (Friday 4th and Saturday 5th June):         

$130 + taxes + pattern or kit (including pattern)

2 kit choices will be available, and colours will be published soon.
Max. 10 people – very well space out, about 10ft apart with your own table.

UFO days with Anne

3 day UFO:   Saturday 5th, Sunday 6th, Monday 7th June        $125

New Fabrics at the Shelf

An insane amount of new fabrics are in the shop this week! We have new solids by Colorworks, New Dawn with the elephants and even some outhouse fabrics! Outhouse fabrics? Yes we have fabrics with outhouses and toilet paper images. Why? I don't know. I must have been really feeling the whole Covid thing! LOL
