Hero of the Week

The Hero of the week this time is Laura Napier!
Laura is a full time nurse at RIH working mostly night shifts. She still finds the time to quilt, scrapbook and look after her house single handedly! Not too sure where all the energy comes from!
Laura has taken the class to become certified in using the longarm here at the shop, and has long arm quilted several quilts.
I chose Laura this time for her positive , "can't stop me" attitude and just sheer energy and willingness to tackle whatever comes her way.
Laura, you need to bottle the energy and sell it!

Kathy Elliott

Kathy Elliott was in to long arm quilt this beauty of quilt this week. I am so impressed with the level of ease that Kathy has on the machine now! Using Glide thread her work is so easy....no breakage!
Super work Kathy .... thank you for sharing!

Maureen Connolly

Maureen Connolly was in to long arm quilt 2 of the same quilt pattern! The pattern is simple to do so the fabrics and the quilting are the focus on these ones. I love the coffee coloured fabrics in this one. Makes me think of lattes, espressos and other good stuff. The cream colour could be whipping cream on top. Hmmmm....sounds like I am ready for a coffee....LOL

Fire Island Hosta

"Fire Island Hosta" quilt made by the talented Anne Hall. Quilted by Ardelle Kerr, Rose City Quilter. This was Anne's first time truly stepping out of her box with regard to colour. She was inspired after seeing the beautiful ombre fabric int he yellow and the black. she had no clear idea of what was going were, and the colour placement within the quilt evolved with the piecing. 
 This quilt remains as one of Anne's favourites.

Paradise in Blooms

Next up we have "Paradise in Blooms" made by Anne Hall. This quilt was also quilted by Ardell Kerr, Rose City Quilter.
Anne has this to say about this gorgeous quilt: "As a child , I remember that my favourite candy was Tootie Frooties.
It wasn't so much the sickly-sweet taste or the glue-like qualities of the candies that was the attraction - it was the gorgeous colours. I decided that this was the quilt that would forever remind me of those colours!"
Come on in to the shop in the next week or so to see this one up on display!.

Aurora

The third project made by Anne Hall is called "Aurora" by BeColourful Quilting.
The quilt is pieced by Anne Hall and quilted by Marlene Speed.
I just love the pattern and the quilting on this one. The sparkles are just amazing!

Quilt For Sale! 

We have a customer who would like to sell her Moonglow finished quilt.  I know.....I can't imagine being able to part with it! It just doesn't fit in her home and would like to see it go somewhere to be loved and appreciated.
