Brenda Bliss.

brenda-bliss-baby-quilt ‌

Brenda Bliss was in to long arm quilt her gorgeous little baby quilt. This is one of my favourite baby fabric panels and borders!

The panel is fairly large [ 36" x 42"] so Brenda just added borders with cornerstones and was done! It looks like she spent hours and hours and hours on this one, but no......pretty darn quick to put together and a truly lovely finish! Brenda used the computer program and with help from Bill had this one done in no time at all. Now she just has the binding to put on and voila! Done like dinner!

Thank you to Brenda for sharing your creativity with us all!

Cary Callander

cary-callander-2 ‌

Cary Callander was in to show us her quilt she finished up recently. The starting point of the design of this one is the center panel which I know is hard for you to see. It is all in blues and yellows from Portugal. Memories of a trip to Portugal!

She then appliqued the fish around the center and then incorporated some fabrics in the square-in-a-square blocks borders. Lastly she was on the outer border and chose to use heart blocks in the corners as the recipient is in love with the heart blocks.

Cary, thank you for giving everyone some ideas for making a quilt so very personal to the receiver of the quilt. This one will be much loved!

Connie Swanson

connie-swanson ‌

Connie Swanson pieced this jaw dropping gorgeous quilt. I don't have a name for this one, but it seems to be a bit of a cross between a braid quilt and a Bargello quilt. Isn't this one just amazing?

Connie made this quilt to go to her son in the USA. He and his family have lost everything in a house fire and Connie wanted to do something special for them.

The quilt is backed with Navy Minky and is so cuddly! Lori Dewart was the quilter on this one and did a fabulous job of it!

Thank you to Connie for sharing all the goodness and kindness you are, Lori for a fabulous job of the long arming and Betsy Hartwick for all the help and advice on the piecing. Village quilts are sometimes just the best ever!

‌
‌

Lynn Garbay

lyn-garbay ‌

Lynn Garbay brought her quilt in for us to quilt for her. Lori Dewart did the long arming using a design called Bosa Nova and it is perfect!

The original starting point for Lynn was a sample that Anne Hall has in our shop hanging....Misty Mountain Pond....but Lynn decided to make hers bigger. She took the applique off, added blocks and then an amazing border! Not only that but this is Lynn's second only Quiltworx paper pieced pattern!

Now get this....she started and finished it by herself, during Covid, after having brain surgery and being on Radiation treatments!!! Good lord Lynn, you are a warrior! Just brought me to tears to hear the story on this family heirloom that is going to be staying in the family for many years. I really hope she has written the story behind this quilt. Just incredible!

I am so grateful that Lynn chose for us to be a part of her quilt story and I think this is one of those quilts we will never forget! Thank you Lynn!

‌

Arlene McLeod

arlene-macleod-alaska ‌

Arlene McLeod was in to long arm quilt her beautiful quilt done all in neutral tones of whites, greys and blacks. Arlene chose to use the computer and with Bill's help had a fabulous finish! Design used is called Bosa Nova and the Glide thread was a nuetral.

Pattern for this quilt is called Alaska by Laundry Basket. This is so cool to see how very different the Alaska quilt can look by just changing the colours of fabrics. Amazing!

Thank you to Arlene for sharing your talents with everyone!

‌
‌

Catherine Lukow

Catherine Lukow ‌

Catherine Lukow brought her quilt in for us to quilt for her. Project is called "Ophelia" and is just gorgeous with big dramatic Peonies all in soft neutral tones of sage greens, creams and little titches of blues. Catherine is a bit of a newer quilter and is super proud of this one! I don't blame her .... it is is just beautiful!

Catherine is keeping this one for herself, even though I told her my birthday is in August...LOL.

Thank you to Catherine for sharing your quilt journey with everyone!
