Helen Birdsall

birdsall

Helen Birdsall sent in this photo of a quilt she made during this isolation time for a dear friend. Here is what she had to say:

This is my isolation project.  I made it for someone who is very dear to me and is going through some very rough times right now.  She needs a lot of hugs that I can’t give her right now, of course.  So I made this as a virtual hug for her.

Linda Isfeld

Linda Isfeld has sent this photo in of what she has made recently. Here is what she had to say:

Bought the kit 3 years ago at the Prince George Quilt show, so very happy to have the flimsy done. Pretty happy with the finished quilt and now how to quilt it is the big question!

"Do more of what you love to do"

LaRae Johnson

la-rae-johnson

LaRae Johnson sent in a photo of her latest scrap quilt. First picture is the front and the second photo is the back! Wow! What a lot of work! Here is what she comments on the project:

Here’s my scrap winter quilt – 51x56 – made from Batik scraps (of course 😝 )  -  OMG so long to cut scraps up – so many triangles already cut and sized as best as I could to match – Te back is a mixture of blocks set aside I didn’t like for a main project – so scraps here – scraps there – scraps everywhere -  hence “Wonky Quilt”  - you asked to see when done 😊 –

This is the 2nd time i’m trying to do this -  my techno skills are not available today 😝  My winter “Wonky Quilt” made from scraps – not a fan of cutting out individual pieces from scraps or making way toooo many triangles sitting around meet and size as close as possible – pattern from my own strange brain cells.  The back is made up of left over blocks I was not happy with – took borders off – added borders – hence back is scrappy too – must have at least 3 diff white fabrics in the quilt 😊  You asked for pics -  can’t wait for this stupid pandemic to be over!

Christine Drewe did this gorgeous Blues and Whites quilt as part of her long arm course and it is gorgeous! The following picture is of another quilt Christine has made recently! Wow .... does she ever sleep?
Just fantastic Christine!

Here is what she wrote in:

I’ve attached two more quilts that I’ve just finished if you need some for your newsletter 😊.  They are ones I did for my pantograph lesson of the APQS certification course.

The spring one was a mystery quilt by Laundry Basket Quilts by Edyta Sitar, I actually kept up, so it was a challenge to select the fabric as I went.  The fabric is Good Days by Me and My Sisters designs.  The pantograph I used is Alfresco.

The Blue one was designed by me on EQ8 and quilted with the Winter Snow Pantograph.

New fabric starting to trickle into the shop. The poor delivery fellow has never been greeted so enthusiastically in his life!

I have 4 bolts of this fun Lemon fabric in because I just thought it was so perfect with the times we are living in. Aprons, placemats, tea cosy and more, this fabric is just fun! It has the recipe for homemade lemonade  and is very well priced at $16.99.

See it in the shop or online at http://www.fabricshelf.ca
