Retreat Oct. 2020
The newsletter will be a bit shorter this week as I was away at Quilt retreat at the South Thompson Inn with Anne Hall.
The event went incredibly well with the most amazing sewing room you can imagine! On 3 sides were all windows including a view over the river with soaring eagles, elegant swans and a hot tub. The food was all catered and the staff went so far above and beyond to accommodate us it was just a wonderful time!
Anne and I are planning for a 3 - 4 day retreat in March and a 5 day long one next October. The spaces fill quickly so stay tuned so you can get your name in for this fabulous get away!
The picture is of the sign that the Inn had made up for us! Can you believe it? We had no idea and it was just the best feeling!!

Kari Dion
Kari Dion was in to long arm quilt her gorgeous Buggy Barn quilt with help from Bill. The panto chosen was called Baroque Hearts and was just stunning on the quilt, fitting the them perfectly!
Pattern is called Crazy Hearts and is so pretty in the pinks, purples and creams!

Danielle Mader
Danielle Mader was in to long arm quilt her gorgeous queen size quilt. With Bill's help she got it done in just under 4 hours!
Danielle chose a modern design to accent the traditional pattern with a modern twist. Using a grey Glide thread the quilt really came to life!

April Lamont
April Lamont was in to show me her awesome quilt she made for her husband! Her husband, Brian, is a huge fan of Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit, so April made this reversible quilt for him!
Brian uses it constantly and really encourages April in her creativity. Hang onto him April......he sounds like a keeper! LOL
The second photo is the back side of the quilt. No pattern, just April's keen sense of colour and theme!

Kathy Mirtle's Stash Saga is done!!!!
Kathy Mirtle has done the deed and finished her Christmas stash busting! She finished October 30th and we are so proud of her!
Thank you to everyone for all the notes of encouragement and great guesses as to when she could be done! We have 2 winners....Margaret Dennison and Linda Archibald. They will each receive a fat quarter pack as well as Kathy Mirtle so she can keep the stash building going!

We are participating in this program! We are helping the NSBIA in this fabulous opportunity to give back to our community. Heather's Fabric Shelf will be a Drop Off point for gently used purses that you are passing on with some items inside for women in need. This has been a challenging year for many of us and the need is greater than ever before. In the picture you see Patti up to her knees in purses.....now imagine Patti with purses up to her thighs! Let's have some fun with this and load those purses with fun items, useful items and de-clutter our closets at the same time! |

Hospice Raffle Quilt
The Cotton Pickers Quilt Guild has once again made and donated a fabulous quilt to be raffled off in support of Hospice House. Long Arm quilting is by Judy Anderson.
We will have tickets available shortly and maybe if we are really lucky they will let us hang it in the shop for a bit.
