Change in our Hours

‌

Starting December 1st we will be closing at 4pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday so my staff can be driving home in daylight.
I know.....I need to stop being a mother hen to them, but old habits are hard to break!
Friday and Saturday hours are from 10 to 5pm. I will probably still send them home at 4 because I will worry myself half mad if I don't.
This is for December and January only at this time.
Thank you to everyone for your understanding.

Women to Women

Heathers Fabric Shelf is again collection filled purses for women in need.

This program has grown like crazy over the years, as the need seems to keep getting bigger and bigger. Sad but true.

If you would like to contribute new or gently used purses filled with necessary items for women in need you can bring them into the shop Monday through Friday between 10am and 5pm.

Some suggestions for the purses:

socks, gloves,hats
candy
shampoo
soap
feminine products
gift card for a coffee shop
notepad and pen
bus pass

Pebbles by Edyta Sitar

Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts has done it again with her gorgeous line of fabrics called Pebbles.
Subtle tones in creams, greens, blues and creams. I don't think I have seen a background fabric I love as much as this!
Currently we have it on bolt only
(24 bolts) but will have fat quarter bundles by next week.
Aileen ...... are you paying attention? Guess what you will be doing? LOL

Ann Gerrits

Ann Gerrits created this gorgeous Winter quilt in traditional greens, reds and whites.I love everything about this quilt! The fabrics, the pattern and the colours are all just a perfect blend.

The quilt was long armed by Leslie ford using the E2E design Merry Little Christmas with Glide thread White for the top.

Rita Winkler

What a gorgeous quilt made by Rita Winkler! All in earth tones of browns and blues batiks this quilt finishes at 48" x 66".
Bill did the long arm quilting and used the E2E design Snow Clams with Glide thread Zaffre for the top. Rita chose to have the design not as dense so the focus would be on the fabrics.

Diana Hewins

Diana Hewins came in to the shop to long arm quilt her darling little tractor quilt. Her grandson is crazy for tractors and when she found this pattern in one of the Lori Holt pattern books she knew it was going to be perfect!

Diana long arm quilted it with a E2E design called Farm with Glide thread Light Grey for the top. She was in and out so fast!

Thank you Diana for sharing with us all! You are amazing!

Dragonfly Dance

A beautiful line of fabrics from Northcott has arrived called Dragonfly Dance with panel and coordinates. Jewel tones with a watercolour feel to it, this is one of the most vibrant lines to come in!

We have kits available to make a large lap quilt (68" x 86") as well as yardage. I have chosen to show you the kit as well as one of the amazing fabrics! Lots more to the line.

Snow is Falling

Our very own Paulette Eccleston has taken a line of fabrics we have called Snow is Falling and created a pattern and kits with it!! How lucky are we?

The quilt finishes at 49" x 59" for a great lap size. Rated beginner you are working with a panel and simple squares. The quilt has a bit of a Scandinavian look to it which is very popular right now.

Monday Morning with Paulette

I am back to the shop now and new videos will be coming with Paulette and her fabulous stash projects.

Every 2nd  Monday morning, Paulettle Eccleston will be showing one of her scrap quilts with instructions for how to put the block together!!!

Tips and tricks, inspiration, trips down memory lane and of course there are bound to be some giggles in there.

The patterns will be free but cannot for the life of me, figure out how to attach to the video.

Gracie King Machine Quilt Frame

We have a customer wanting to sell her Gracie King Machine Quilt Frame.
This one is the frame only with a width of 40". The extension can bring it from 63" to 135".
Height is adjustable from 32" to 52".
The frame is capable of loading a quilt from 51" up to a king size 122".
You will need to put your own machine on the frame.
The asking price is $500 and has full instructions.

Scissor Sharpening

Scissor Sharpening by Rick Walker of Wicked Edge

Rick will be coming in the second Wednesday of each month to sharpen your scissors and knives.

Have your items in to the shop by end of business on Dec.10th for them to be sharpened on the 11th.

Rick comes with 40 years of experience and does a great job! He will even sharpen pinking shears, grooming shears and more.
You can phone me at 250-376-7630 or  email me as well to let me know how many scissors/knives are coming.

Cost is $10 a pair scissors
Knives $8 each
