Meet Your Neighbour
I would for everyone to meet Rose Jansen, quilter from Prince George.
Rose was born and grew up in Prince George. She began sewing in Grade 5 with help from her mom. Rose continued to pursue her love of sewing for many years.
She turned to quilting as a way to deal with Post Partum Depression. Her girlfriend and herself had many cups of tea, tears, laughs and hugs. The end result was a decision to take up quilting.
When I asked Rose what her favourite part of quilting was she said "everything but the binding". I think she has lots of company in that!
One interesting note about Rose: She loves a good potluck dinner! This is partly because then she doesn't have to cook the whole meal.
The photo is of Rose spinning on a post in the Brock shopping mall. Rose is down taking a course here at the shop and her hubby has been telling her how winter has come to Prince George. With the gorgeous weather we are having we thought a bikini and photo shoot would be perfect! LOL

Sal Harms
Sal Harms was in to long arm quilt her gorgeous Asian inspired quilt. I love this pattern, called Kimono Rose of this one, as it shows off the fabrics beautifully!
In Asian culture the colour red is considered to be lucky so I am thinking that Sal in her red t-shirt and red quilt should be purchasing a lottery ticket!

Hector Symes - Repairman Extraordinaire!
Hector Symes and his wife Tammy,is back on November the 22nd for repairing machines here at the Shelf. I am just thrilled to have Hector coming to our shop!
Hector repairs all makes and models of sewing machines and sergers. Basic sewing machine = $89.99
Electronic/computer machine = $99
Embroidery machine = $109
Serger = $99
He also sharpens sewing scissors for $5 each. Pinking shears are $7.50

Arlene McLeod
Arlene McLeod was in to long arm quilt her lovely little lap quilt. She has a great pattern using up lots of her scraps.
The choice in green for the border was absolutely perfect! For her top thread she chose the Glide Prickly Pear which was just spot on!

Lorraine Silbernagel
Lorraine was in to long arm quilt her gorgeous quilt. She is so much fun to have in the building!
Lorraine peiced this beauty of a quilt using her own imagination. She did a great job on the long arm quilting of this one!
Yes that is Anne Hall peeking out from under the quilt. And those are Bill's feet as well sticking out of the quilt. Always professional in here!

Sal Harms
Sal Harms was in yesterday to long arm quilt this beauty of quilt!
She was really hoping for the design to show up well and I think she has achieved that! I love the pinks and purples and the dark center really makes this one special!
Sal has used the panto called "Flirtatious" and a pink Glide thread for perfect results!
