Brenda Bliss

Brenda Bliss was in to long arm quilt her lovely cozy Frosty Friends quilt. A great size for on the couch or on the bed to curl up with. The quilt, not Brenda. I mean she is probably great on the couch or to curl up with too, but I am focusing on the quilt. LOL
The digital design chosen is Christmas Gnomes, so you just know this is going to over the top cuteness! Top thread is Glide Teal. Lori Dewart was Brenda's assistant on this one.
Thank you so much for sharing Brenda!

Catherine Lukow

Catherine Lukow decided to take on her first larger quilt with a few more challenging elements. A relatively new quilter Catherine is wonderful for always being open to learning new ideas and techniques.
The quilt is a McKenna Ryan quilt and with each row having a new technique the project was a great learning tool. Catherine did the quilt as a block of the month so she had the luxury of spacing the $$ out as well as a month to perfect the blocks. Didn't she do amazing!!
The quilt is called There's No Place Like Home finishing at 71" x 94". Digital edge to edge design is Plume with the top thread Glide Mercury. Quilted by Leslie Ford.
Thank you to Catherine for sharing with us!
We have kits still available in store and online as a complete kit only: https://www.fabricshelf.ca/shop/c/p/THERES-NO-PLACE-LIKE-HOME--71x94-x65405163.htm

Gail Lang & Sashiko

Gail Lang brought her stunning Sashiko projects in to show us and share with everyone. Jeanne Chambers is the one who got her started and Gail took to it like a duck to water. The first one is a large panel all hand stitched in Sashiko. The panel comes all prestamped and you are ready to go with the proper thread and needle. The second one has some printed turtles accents but the rest is all handstitched in Sashiko. Just gorgeous!
Please note that I do not have these specific panels in stock. I have others that you can find on the website or in the shop: https://www.fabricshelf.ca/shop/c/p/SASHIKO-CLOTH-YARN-DYED-WINDCHIMES-BLUE-x66240252.htm
Thank you to Gail for sharing with us all!

Weekly Quilting Tip

One of the most common issues we see with incoming quilts to be longarmed is wavy borders. By the time I get to putting the borders on I just want to get it done! Do not make the mistake of cutting a strip the required width and just laying it down and stitching....bad idea!
You need to measure the middle of the quilt and both sides, then take the average of these 3 measurements and that is what you cut your border at. Now find the centre of the border and the centre of the sides (or top ) of the quilt itself and put a pin. Match the pins of the border centre to the quilt centre and pin from the centre out to the ends. This will have your quilt the exact same measurement on each side and the top and bottom.
All longarmers out there will thank you from the bottom of their hearts for this perfectly square quilt with no ripples.
