It is now mandatory for you to wear a mask at all times in our shop. If you do not have a mask with you we have disposable ones as well as reusable masks.
We do have hand sanitizing station in the store just as you come in.
At the till hubby Bill has just installed a Plexi Glass screen for between customer and staff member at the till.
We also have to change the number of customers in the shop to 10.

We appreciate everyone's cooperation at this time and hope you will all continue to visit the shop.
Let's all stay safe and please please please be kind to yourself and others.

Happy Dance News:

We are participating in this program!

This is the last week to get your new or gently used purses filled with women's products [ socks, mitts, candy, hygiene products and just nice things for women in a very difficult situation] to be passed out over the Christmas season.

We are helping the NSBIA in this fabulous opportunity to give back to our community.

Heather's Fabric Shelf will be a Drop Off point for gently used purses that you are passing on with some items inside for women in need.

This has been a challenging year for many of us and the need is greater than ever before. In the picture you see Patti up to her knees in purses.....now imagine Patti with purses up to her thighs!

Let's have some fun with this and load those purses with fun items, useful items and de-clutter our closets at the same time!

Hector and Tammy Symes, sewing machine repair wizards from Kelowna, are changing the way services are being done.

To protect themselves and us, Hector and Tammy will be coming every Wednesday to pick up machines for servicing and taking them back to Kelowna to service. They will return the machines every Wednesday.

Still the same great service and the same great prices  with the same great people....just a different time schedule. Please phone or let me know that you have a machine to go down and if you can have it here by Wednesday noon that would be super!

Amrita Ollek

amrita-and-lori

Amrita was in to long arm quilt 2 quilts with help from Lori Dewart. This was Amrita's first time trying out the computer program to quilt her project and she is in love with it!

Amrita was able to quilt a gorgeous design and it all was just perfect with Glide thread and help with all the logistics from Lori. Lori is very experienced working with the computer and can help you achieve those perfect results! If you choose to, we can quilt your quilt for you and get it back to you lickity split....about 1.5 weeks.

We are booked up for coming in to quilt the quilt with Lori or Bill until Christmas but you can get yourself on the calendar for January if you like. We are still taking quilts in to be quilted. 250-376-7630

Rachel Berry

rachel

Rachel Berry was in to long arm quilt her awesome British themed quilt. She had originally hoped for navy Minky, which we are out of but is on the way, so ended up using navy wide back flannel by Northcott. Turns out the flannel looks just amazing and probably better than the Minky would have! How is that for a happy end result?

Rachel also chose to use the computer for a more involved edge to edge design and the results are awesome!

Thank you to Rachel for sharing your quilt with us all and for being so easy to work with! Love that!!!

Shirley Huculak

shirley-hucaluk

Shirley Huculak was in to long arm quilt her fabulous quilt all in water tones of blues and greens.

Guess what she chose to do? Yep she chose to use the computer program and as expected, the results were spectacular! Shirley used Glide thread and a perfect design to stitch out. She says this is the best ever!

Thank you to Shirley for sharing your quilt and your day with us all!

Kerry Nicholas

kerry-nichols

Kerry Nicholas was in to long arm 2 quilts in one day! She joined forces with Lori Dewart and had both quilts done in 3 1/2 hours!!

Both of these quilts are from the book of patterns "3 Fabric Quilts". Kerry has done several quilts from the book and finds them really good to use up her stash.

Kerry used the computer for the first time and is in love with it! So fast and so perfect! You too can come in and with a class, use the long arm using the computer or driving the machine yourself. We have openings in January so give us a call if you would like to be a part of this fabulous program!

Coral goes Rag Time!

rag-quilt-by-lori

Our very own Coral designed and made this gorgeous little girl baby quilt from some of our newest flannels. Line of fabrics is called Mommy & Me. This was Coral's first rag quilt and she found it so easy to do!

Coral cut her squares for top and bottom at 6 1/2" and the batting in the center at 5 1/2". Next she laid all the square sandwiches out, stitched a simple X in the center or outlined the hearts. Now she joined the pieces together, clipped the seam allowances every 1/4". Machine washing fluffed all the raggy edges up and last the binding went on. Coral chose to sew flannel binding onto the quilt as opposed to having the raggy edges on the outside. What a fabulous quilt and I am sure this is going to one very well loved quilt!

You can find these fabulous flannels in the shop or online at http://www.fabricshelf.ca

108" Metric Measurement by Windham

metric-by-windham

How is this for a great wide backing? I love the antique look to some widebacks! They just seem to go so well with a lot of my favourite colours.

This wide backing is 108"  and priced very well at $29.99. You can find it in the shop or on the website : http://www.fabricshelf.ca
